Got 7 days no panic.

Also why pay a weeks wages for a player that can't play this weekend.

Desperation doesn't bring the best replacements in. Chill out a bit fella, we are in the frame and the season has barely begun. You don't get promoted at the end of December, too early for panic.

Seems like It's going to be down to price If we're looking at youngsters.
Maddison will be back about 3 weeks, I honestly think we're slightly overloaded across the front four and can afford to lose one.
Also should Reda be getting paid through some Insurance policy.
That would open up a few options.

Anybody wish we would sign someone that will be our player only? All these loans as great as they are, make me very nervous. Could it all be built on quicksand? Need some ccfc players on the books at some point surely? In TM i trust just wish we had more players on the employment roster.

Yes but we can only sign a free agent ATM, a loan until Jan would be OK.

I did say a few weeks back that a couple of injuries and we could be in real trouble and I was told by quite a few that we were fine.

We need two in I feel. Right back and a centre back. ASAP!!

Be nice to have at least one in for Colchester, centre half more important for me as Ricketts can cover right back

Looks like we have gone back to the start of the season again and not trusting TM to take his time on bringing in the right players. The days have gone like under SP where we brought in lots of players hoping to get a few that are good enough. TM has gone for less players but of a better quality. And the results show this. Yes we have a small squad that suffers when we get injuries. But we are not alone. And we have young players that can fill the void while the right players are found.

Mowbray signings:

Ours:
- Johnson
- Ricketts
- Vincelot
- Lameiras
- Stokes (I think?)

Loans:
- Murphy
- Armstrong
- Cole (1 month out of the blue)
- Kent (short term cover)

Bit hyperbolic to say we need some on the books eventually. You can add in the emergence of Maddison as well.

More to the point, if we go up we'd need to replace a lot of players anyway. Outside of promising kids and key players, 1 year deals and long term loans are fine. Of course we'd all like to sign a 30-a-season striker permanently, but that's not the choice. It's Armstrong or another Delfouneso or whoever.

Yes, we have to trust him and I'm sure he will pull some rabbit out of the hat. I believe that, especially with players like Cole wanting to come to us, he's getting the rep in the media and around the grounds that he knows what he's doing and has a plan that will reap rewards. Its good because we can't use a decent wage packet to tempt quality.

You know me though, glass half empty, can't help it to be honest, so used to things going pear shaped just when you think a corner has been turned, or they don't turn up for the crucial game. Thats why I worry that this is a setback not unlike what you've leaned towards re. start of season. Going to Walsall looking the dogs, an injury that unbalanced us and it took quite a while to get back on the rails. Without that I'm convinced we could be a few points clear at the top by now.

Reda's crock has had a similar impact as mentioned re. the depth of the squad. I have nothing against Phillips even if he's been a twat lately with the pens, but having to play a lad where there's been some disquiet, you have to hope TM sorts something out sooner rather than later. Yes I know he's done the biz and takes his time and gets it right, and perhaps I'm worrying too much about unnecessary pressure on the team, but I shudder when we're defending at the best of times.

It is a long season. We are a third of the way through it. So 2/3 left. We are unbeaten for a fair bit now. And this is with players out injured. Maddison is due back soon. We can afford a couple of bad results. It is what happens at the start of next year that is important. But I trust TM to have it in hand.

We could be top of the table after our next league game. Maybe if we are you will be more confident.

Vincelot was a right back before converting to midfield, would miss his contribution in his current defensive midfield role but maybe this gives us options, until TM can find the right defender.

The moanings and voices of discontent have increased as our results improve, I don't understand it. We are on our best run of the season but the last 6 weeks the fans just seemed disheartened and unsatisfied for some reason.

True.

Murphy's crap. Cole's just a PR exercise. Phillips is crap, Fortune's crap, Thomas is crap, Haynes is crap, send Kent back, Burge is crap, JOB's a headless chicken, we're shipping in too many goals.

I think that covers everything.

Can't understand how we're 4th with so many crap players and such a leaky defence.

Mindboggling.

You forgot a few weeks ago we were struggling for goals, Armstrong had been worked out and people didn't know where the goals were coming from and it was a massive concern.

But most of those you have mentioned are not regular starters?

So it's okay to moan about them?

The argument is that we are doing really well, yet there seems to be a disproportionate amount of negativity. You always get a tiny bit, but we're 4th in the table and have been up there all season thus far.

We are scoring goals for fun, winning, playing good football, yet the negativity is seeming completely out if proportion to how well we are doing.

This is football, form ebbs and flows. Yes we'd scored 1 in 4 - that was rightfully a concern just as the fact we've now conceded 9 in the last 3.5 games and look likely to concede at every set piece.

What's the point of having a football forum if people aren't allowed to have opinions.

Yes 4th and 1 point off top is a amazing, but essentially its where we finish after 46 games that counts. And as Northern said you can be both happy for being 4th and pissed off at the performance and losing today.

Don't think it is negativity more nervous about losing a few games and dropping out of the top 6.After all it wouldn't be the first time.
Then all that good work will be undone.

Nothing wrong with analysing and critiquing a particular performance.
I said at the time when we went through a dry spell in front of goals that things would pick up again and Armstrong would start banging them in again and at least we were still picking up points and I was scoffed at.

It just gets me annoyed when people overreact and lose there shit, making out we will struggle for goals the rest of the season because we were poor going forward in one match, or say things like we will slip out the play offs because we draw one match or we are dropping to midtable/won't make play offs because we put in one poor performance. People were losing there minds after three consecutive draws saying it was only a matter of time before we dropped out of the play offs and we weren't going to score goals.

Your right it does ebb and flow, some fans need to understand this and stop going nuts every time it flows not exactly the way they would like it to and realise it won't always flow that way. All teams from 1st to 24th will have ups and downs on the way but at the end of the season you will finish where you deserve to and I believe we can finish in the play offs

Its a concern we are conceding goals but we are outscoring the opposition atm being a cov fan for over 40 years it's like waiting for the inevitable bubble to burst and another false dawn rears its ugly head .. being human one of our many traits is being a pessimist especially if you're a cov fan in touch with history
