Not sure what your point is or the timing of it considering its a well known fact and has been for years that attendances are declining due to cost etc
I think the article was just pointing out that declining figures are an issue for everyone in the football league. We all too easily have said in the past "Look how the attendances have dropped since SISU" but the statement would be more apt if it were "Look at how attendences have dropped since the financial world caved in on itself in 2008"
It just says that football clubs can't just expect that a significant amount of people will attend anymore. That discounts and offers on their own aren't good enough anymore. It needs to be a full experience. Basically, it's saying what Jimmy said in the 60's. Great value, great transport, great entertainment. Make it a full day or evening of it with decent food, beer, music, activities. I particularly like the idea of local ale on tap, gourmet pies and live bands.
