Strange that. Maybe they both thought that their beloved dog couldn't live without them?

At first I was thinking suicide pact, but the dog too? And now, with finding out how much younger his wife was, it tends to make a lot less sense.

You would think it's something like that, police say no foul play. Real shame, liked him as an actor, but no age for his missus to go too.

I'm guessing they found a note (although I doubt they found one from the dog)

Brilliant film. Favourite snippet of dialogue between Gene Wilder (Young Frankenstein) and Marty Feldman (Igor)

This now seems all rather odd.

So, Hackman, his wife and their dog were found dead. But the police are now saying there were two other dogs at the property that were fine.

The front door was open, but nothing was taken and nothing was ransacked.

They also believe they had been dead for quite some time. They have checked for carbon monoxide and gas poisoning and no sign of that either.

I wonder what on earth happened there.

The police said not suspicious at first, but are now saying they are not going to rule that out.

It has been confirmed that Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa tested negative for carbon monoxide poisoning. The news was revealed by Santa Fe County Sheriff Aden Mendoza during a press conference on Friday.

There were no signs of foul play found at the actor's home.

The bodies of the couple were discovered in separate rooms of their Santa Fe homes earlier this week. Reports suggest that they may have been dead for some time as the bodies showed 'signs of mummification'.

Blimey, the mystery deepens.

Read somewhere that the front door was open and the dog that died was shut in a cupboard,

Probably the poor thing died because it could get no food or water?

It's really weird.

They are now saying they think the couple had been dead for 10 days.

Yet, there were two dogs that were fine when authorities turned up.

Someone had to have been feeding them surely?

No-one has mentioned anything about the bodies being interfered with

They could probably manage if they could get out the house, the other plausible scenario is too grim to speculate on.
The front door of the couple’s home was “unsecured and opened,” according to the warrant. There were two healthy dogs found on the property, one “running loose” outside and another inside by Arakawa’s body, which was located in a bathroom. The deceased dog was in a closet of the bathroom approximately 10 to 15 feet from Arakawa, a classical pianist.

Yeah, but where were they finding food from?

Maybe dog food was in bags, that were easily accessible in the kitchen.

Dogs can hunt and find water. This is an aerial view of the house. They obviously coped.
