Is that Daniel Ricciardo? Not Ozzy's vibe, I guess.

The man who uttered the immortal words "Houston, we have a problem" from the commander's seat of Apollo 13. But was also in the crew of Apollo 8, the first humans to orbit the Moon and saw "Earthrise", thereby paving the way for all the later space exploration, which hasn't really advanced much in the past 50 years. Astonishing they were doing this in the sixties when i was growing up. Fly high, Commander Lovell.

Ray Brooks. Not a "huge" name but seen him in countless TV shows over the years, playing straight and comedy roles. Thought he was underrated, a great voice too (heard him in lots of corporate voice overs).

Had a quick look, but can't see her mentioned. Just recently heard that Judy Loe passed last month. Actress and widow of the great Richard Beckinsale (and much more recently, TV Director Roy Battersby), and mother of Kate Beckinsale.
Liked her.

How the fuck is the Purps known in Coventry

The bogey man of the North West and North Wales.

No one will be shedding a tear for him.

He was a figure of fun, but underneath it all, he was a very dangerous sexual predator towards young lads.

As Father Jim has rightly pointed out he was a sexual predator who got his kicks from squeezing and measuring muscles and obviously because of his size he imitated a lot of young men into very uncomfortable positions so no I won't be shedding any tears.

I think it was just the bizarre nature of it all which made him become this legendary figure.

I read up on him a few years back and to describe him as ‘unusual’ would be very lenient.
I think many a Merseyside mother would threaten their unruly young offspring with a visit from him - Like you would the 'bogey man'.

It was also the fact that he was unrelenting in his stalking of his chosen targets.

My younger brother had a good mate, who was really into the weights from a young age, he was a good looking lad too.

The Purple one quite literally camped outside his house day and night, waiting for him to come out, so he could get a grip of him.

The poor lad had to climb into next doors garden as his only means of getting out and back into his parents house.

It was only the intervention of the police that put a stop to it all.

He also did jail time for stalking and then breaking his bail conditions / intimidation of some of the lads from the Wigan Rugby League Academy too.

He was a monster.
