Remember seeing him in an exhibition evening at a snooker club in Cov, I guess mid 70's. A real entertainer .

For me, this is on a par with "the cat from next door but one". I thought the thread were for people who were famous, or at least noteworthy (City fans in sad circumstances, etc)

The name you are after is Roberta Taylor wouldn't know her from Eastenders don't watch it but she acted in The Bill mostly on the front desk in the station. Died from a fall.
While im on John Mayall the first and probably the best British blues artist died aged 90 .RIP John

My missus just told me Rik Mayall has passed away.
She meant John Mayall of course.
I only got to see him once, alongside Peter Green. Magical stuff.
Rest easy John. You brought so much and so many to the blues.

Indeed. Timing was a bit off though.
I put it down to us watching several very entertaining Rik You Tubes lately, so I'll let her off.

I've been a fan of John Mayall since the very early 70's with his backing group, The Bluesbreakers.
Sad news, but a great age to reach. I wouldn't have though he was 90.
RIP John.

Was just reading he coached Moorcroft when he broke the world record and lived in Nuneaton for a while before, rather predictably, moving to Corby.

Me and a few mates wet to watch Gladiators being filmed when we were about 16 at the NIA or NEC. Someone had a big sign which read ‘Wolf’s got crabs’ which funnily enough didn’t make the TV cut.

Gladiatorrrrrrs ready!

I read somewhere that he'd had a heart attack or stroke. The family had been very guarded on his illness though.
Such a shame as he was one of my favourite players back in the 90's

“Gentlemen! This is democracy manifest!”

Not really sure what it means, but I say it a lot when I don’t get my own way/lose an argument with the Mrs.

I think the funniest part for me is “have a look at the headlock here”. As if he’s Steve Irwin talking about a crocodile stood next to him.
