A few people who are in to his books have said Blood Meridian is his best work, ots on my to read list but not got round to it yet.

One of my favourite authors, glad he managed to get his last two books out before he passed away. The Road is a great book, though not what you would call enjoyable! His Border Trilogy books are brilliant, especially the first two. Would thoroughly recommend them. RIP Cormac

Never read any of his books but love the film adaptations of his books. The Road is a difficult watch though because of the subject matter, in many ways one of the scariest films I’ve ever watched.

The Road film is very good, but still has nothing on the book. Completely terrifying.

I had no idea she was that old. Her highlight for me was on the Morecambe & Wise Show. Holy shit just googled it ... 1971 FFS! Where does the time go.

Also activist and Labour MP, as well as the acting.

That's terrible. I was shocked when it was revealed he was suffering dementia.
Always seemed to be a commanding presence when Utd came to HR late 70's/early80's.
Remember him scoring in one game which I think was when the club officially handed over the entire kop end for their supporters.

Hell, that was a sad 24 hours for my youth. Remember watching Hollins and McQueen on Match of the Day. McQueen was always dominant for United in the FA Cup finals in the 70s and a player I always dreamed of copying.

And Glenda Can't speak for her politics or activism but her acting and comedic timing was impeccable. There was a reason she was invited back on Morecambe and Wise multiple times (and it wasn't her Oscars .

RIP to all, may their memories be a blessing.

Glenda Jackson was one of the great British actresses. Could do the lot from comedy through to tragedy, film or theatre.

Gonna throw Martin Tyler in the mix.

Seemed to be losing his marbles anyway and now the sudden ending of his sky contract

I remember the first film I ever saw him in - "Freebie & The Bean" - with a very young James Caan. IIR, Loretta Swit (MASH fame) was also in it.

Come on, who had Milan Kundera?

I guess he doesn’t have to worry about the Unbearable Lightness anymore.

Chris Garland, Bristol City legend who played against us on the 19th May 77.
Also was part of the Ashton gate 8 that ripped up their contracts in 82 to save the club only 74.
RIP!!

Beat me to it! First thing I thought of was "On yer bike!".

Him and Carl Chinn (who is still alive of course) made brummy accents almost acceptable, then Peaky Blinders came along and ruined it all.
