Kuklinski was chatting to a source very close to the club tonight, and this is the form as told to him.

Apparently almost a done deal. Hoffman will take over within the next 6 months, buy half the stadium and give cash to SISU if we get promotion within 3 years. A lot of different people involved in the deal including Richard Keys, hence why it is taking time.

I was also told that Oggy has fucked a lot of deals up in the past, he was to blame for us losing Daniel Sturridge.

The stuff about the takeover almost sounds too good to be true...I'd love it to be, but I dunno if it will be simple. The deal as outlined has already been rejected.

..as for Oggy: this would be the first time in a long and almost unsurpassed career of incredible loyalty that anyone linked to the club has said anything like this about him. The only bad thing I've heard was years ago from my old man. In a local kids game, he actually snuck a 12th man on until my dad pointed it out, and he did say he didn't like him as much after meeting him. Said he was a bit arrogant. But the bloke seems a genuinely nice guy to me and a bloody top notch GK coach to boot. I can't see why he had anything to do with us losing Sturridge..him being poached by Man C is entirely the cause for that one!

I met Oggy once when I was a mere child, and I fully concur with your fathers assessment of him being arrogant. It was a pop and crisps day, I spoke to him, but was basically dismissed. I've never seen him as the great hero since.

Sturridge left because his Dad had a run in with Oggy. His Dad was doing some scouting for us, (purely so we could keep Sturridge) but Oggy bombed him out, and within 3 months young Daniel was off to Man City.

You need to calm down son, you'll have an anuerism at this rate. I don't know, when no news is forthcoming people start threads asking if there is any news, so when you start a thread with the latest news, they get themselves worked up.

Caaaallllm down.

hmmm not sure about sturridge as man city were one of about ten big clubs who were after him and swung the deal because one of there then back room staff was heavily involved with the under 21s selection and was promising to get him fast tracked in to the england set up. If there was a bust up it would not have helped but I think you will find he was always going

The takeover deal you mention sounds like how i would expect any actual deal to be structured. SISU aren't going to get all their money up front from anyone, the next best they can hope for is when the club comes in to a substantial amount of money they will be paid off to a more acceptable amount. Very risky though on their part, i would never wager big money on us being promoted!
As for Oggy, i used to see him at all the games in the Mcalpine lounge in Highfield road as a kid, he was a pretty miserable guy and kept very much within his circle. He was the same at the golf, kept within his group, made no effort to socialise in the club house, only ever played with his friends in competitions. Got the impression he thought he was better than all us mere mortals. Still, he's loyal to the club and a great keeper, so i'm not complaining, don't want to be friend with the guy, just want him to be a good influence on our keepers!

Can only speak from my own experience but have met Oggy twice.

The first time was in 2005 when I undertook a 750 mile walk for charity. He took the trouble of coming to meet me on his day off at the Ricoh for a photo with the CET and handed over a signed ball to auction for my charity, and second was at the Ricoh in 2007 at the 20 year Cup Anniversary thing. Each time he came across as a genuinely nice and approachable bloke.

Don't worry about Sturridge, i mean do you think he would still be here ! His old man knows the game and was always on the look out to better his kid, who wouldn't be. Don't know how much we eventually got for him but atleast we got something, maybe even more with his sell ons and other extras than we would with an ordinary sale and by all accounts he was so far up his own arse he looked like a ninja turtle.

we seemed to have missed the point on the thread!
this is about the guys who started saying his heard that a takeover deal is close to being done
not about our goalkeeping coach and daniel sturridge at all

Well, according to Stuart Linnell, the two parties couldn't be further apart!?

I have no inside knowledge though & don't claim to!

I've never got all the hero worship over Oggy, to be honest. For me, he was an OK keeper who happened to play a lot of games. Nothing against him or anything.

you're an idiot

This topic is ridiculous it needs removing! Oggy was not the most elegant or even talented goalkeeper on the planet but the amount of times he made insane saves or dived at the feet of some gorilla of a striker without a seconds thought????? How many appearances???? How many times did he break his nose and ruin his good looks in the line of duty????? For the 90 minutes he was on that pitch he put 110% in it for the club. So what if he didn't kiss your arse when he met you in person during his own time! OGGY = LEGEND.

The important thing about this thread is whether or not people like Marmite. I love it. And as for the choice between red or brown sauce - red every time! Am I going of track a bit? Good! It means I'm doing the same as most peeps on this thread. :claping hands:

.....and Kuklinski..... why use the name of a total screwball killer? Scarey....

Agreed. Very off topic. And yes, red sauce is better-but I don't like it when people call it that. It's ketchup.
