Very sad. 31 years old and in his prime. Life is so precious. News came through at the same time as Sir Roger Bannister’s passing too.

Its always really shocking when someone so young, fit and heathy dies. Just like Foe, etc. Just reminds me how precious live is and you have to live it to the max, and not take the things that are dear to you for granted.

Really class of the Italian officials to call off all Series A games today in a mark of respect, Not sure the bods at the PL would have done the same.

RIP.

RIP Davide.

Absolutely shocking and so sad, as others have said it makes you realise how precious life is.

It sounds like it was a heart attack

Really awful news this, backbone of Fiorentina's side and absolutely no age. Cardiac arrest apparently.

Fiorentina are not only honouring the contract extension he was due to sign with them, but it's going to be a lifetime one with it going to his wife and 2-year old daughter. That's lovely.

Was it a proper paper or just clickbaiting? I saw a site trying to clickbait about it the other day

Davide Astori death: Prosecutors open investigation

Udine chief prosecutor Antonio De Nicolo said he had opened a "culpable homicide" inquiry - a routine move before an autopsy in Italy... "It is a duty to ascertain if the death of Astori came about through tragic fatality or if someone could have foreseen something. At this moment no one has responsibility for anything."
