MR needs to work on Cody

Obviously we are creating chances, and with no money (and poss no home ground) cody has 3 weeks to get fit enough to replace DMC.

If we have to rely on cody then we'll have to change formation and go with a conventional 2 up top, there's no way cody can play as a lone striker.

I don't think he'll start at the likes of Leeds and other teams he's linked with... That also could work in our favour.[ QUOTE]

thats the bit for me pal..

If you spoke to Westwood now and said, where would you rather be, playing for Cov every week, or at Sunderland on the bench ?, I pretty sure we all know what he would say

30k p/w in the prem... Westwood can't be brought into this.

Leeds will offer 10k max, we could offer say 4.5k, with bonuses, with a wage increase when promoted, and if we don't get promoted by the end of 13/14 season, we'll let you go for 'x' amount.

Oh and, there may be parties rumoured to be interested in his services... But how bids will be made? We will most certainly make a bid, just if it gets accepted.

We have a large squad but beyond the first 11, there isn't a lot of strength in depth, we struggled against morecome without both mcgoldrick and bailey and that's before you factor in Adams, that's 3 of our first 11 who may not be here in 3 weeks time.

I'll give you that RM, LM, LB and ST. CB, RB, CM, AMC, have depth.

4.5k a week, with a promise of an increase IF we get promoted

OR, 10k a week, with a promise of an increase if they get promoted to the prem, and if they dont, he will still pick up his 10k a week, and worst case senerio, he wont play and will be loaned out to another club.

Its in the hands of "his agent"

pretty sure his agent isnt negotiating an extra £200 a week off CCFC

If we act decisively and swiftly, we may not have to compete with another party for his signature... I think it's 50:50 ATM!

Not that low! I'll give 40:60 (40 he'll come), 50:50 a bit optimistic.

He said he has nothing to do with any transfer activity and his agent will decide. His agent will take any offer we make and try and better it before he even discusses with McGoldrick.

Hopefully the 2 parties reach a compromise... If I were religious (or believed in God) I'd pray every night for him to sign.

Not going to lie, if he chooses not to stay, fair enough, I just hope he does shit, we get promoted his new team do shit and we over take them. (Bit carried away)

Not a chance!

Agents get the money - sentiment doesn't pay the mortgage!

Wish you well DM!

You are wasted in League 1

I think one of the deciding factors for him is the off the pitch stuff, would he really want to pledge his future to a club that doesn't know where it will be come the New Year - would any of us?

It's nothing to do with sisu. His agent will get other better offers from championship clubs. It would be impossible to compete with offers in the region of £10k a week.

We can't rely on simply how h owes us for getting his career back on track etc bigger wages and a bigger signing on fee is what we have to compete with

Wouldn't the agent just be looking at trying to get the best deal? "Cov will offer you this amount and X will offer you this".

Ultimately wouldn't DMC still get the final word?

Also lets hope Forest don't want him back.

Think some of you have missed something here.. A certain old bloke whos retired... Kilbane must have been on 5-6k? That will go straight to the Mcgoldrick offer I would have thought... But since when do SISU do what everyone thinks they will

I am just praying the other offers are not brillant and he decideds to give us a go. he really has been a talisman have not had a forward like him in so long. I exclude King because he was here for such a short period.

What about the fee forest might want, agents fees and player signing on fee? Players also get a loyality bonus for not asking for a transfer?

The whole package needs to be affordable not just wages.

They're powerless to stop anyone signing him on a pre-contract agreement mind.

He's part of a working machine here, he works for us and we work for him. Jumping ship might be very bad for him. He's no messiah. Other clubs see him scoring goals for us - he doesn't do it on his own. Transplant him somewhere else and he might go back to being the nobody he was at NF. Do they want to give him another contract? Think very carefully DM!

You chat more shite than me sometimes

So now you think he is going to get a loyalty bonus from a club that don't want to keep him?

It's written in players contracts that if they don't ask for a move and either see out their contract or they team sells them they get a loyalty bonus. This will be in his contract and forest will either have to pay it or it will be part of the transfer fee.

All contracts are different. Players have agents so they can screw every last penny out of clubs.

I suppose all players have the same sell on clause now.
