Would have liked to have read that. Shame it's in The Scum.

Still makes me shudder just thinking about it. Glad he came out of it so positive and there’s no doubting what a great job he does in his current role.

I am still waiting to hear back from my complaint about the ref giving that penalty in his testimonial match. A little bit of a whiffy decision, looked like match fixing.

As a very young lad I was brought up in the Jimmy Hill pop and crisps under the Sky Blues Stand era which at the time was brilliant. Over fifty years on i can testify that Dave Busst and his brilliant Sky Blues in the Community team out perform pop and crisps x 1000. I currently play walking football organised by SBitC for men living with prostate cancer at the Higgs and always have a great time and laugh there. Just click on the CCFC site/ Commnity or Twitter to see the myriad of activities they organise for young and old alike. Unlike Coventry Council, SBitC and Dave Busst truly are a credit to the city.

I have seen videos of the walking football and it looks a great laugh. Hopefully something like that is still going when I am retired!

Are 2 footed challenges allowed in walking football?

Anyone remember the charity game at old Trafford a few months afterwards. Oggy was playing upfront for the full 90 mins. We got a pen in the end and David limped on and scored. Great day out!

Really? Genuinely didn't know that! Any links to the line ups, score etc?

I remember it as that. Assumed he meant there'd been another...Cantonas last game for United if I remember right.

Seem to remember he swapped his shirt at half time from long sleeved to short sleeved (or vice versa) so one could be given to Busst and he could keep one.

Or have I made that up?

Don't know about swapping it at half time but he definitely game a shirt he wore that night to Busst to auction off. Remember it being said pretty much every player they asked to play said yes as the injury had been so horrific.

I go to the SBitC walking football. I love it. I am 62 next month and before doing this had given up any thoughts of playing football again. However, the sessions are competitive and there is the odd meety challenge (mostly accidental to be honest). At Finbarr's where two sessions a week are held, the walking rule is reasonably loosely interpreted. It is great fun. I would say about 80%of the chaps who go wear a City shirt with a large percentage attending games. I was able to tell my boys last week that I had tackled Dave Bennett and won the ball! I don't think Dave was particularly bothered but I was pleased with myself!
So well done to Dave Buust and SBitC for organising this, it makes a big difference to the health and happiness of a lot of old blokes (and a couple of ladies too).

I've seen they are launching more stuff for the older generation too. Not just football but trying to get people socialising etc.
