As an aside, I would suggest that CCFC are paying decent wages at this level, a number of the signings have played a lot of their career at a higher level.

A lot of people screaming NOPM won't have been handing over their P anyway, it's an easy protest for some of the frothier selection.

The same fans moaning about us not getting him, are probably the same that have cast Biamou off as being lazy/not good enough already.

From reports it appears that Biamou is starting to look a lot better in training
Hopefully we'll see it when he next comes on in a game

Not sure how I feel about this, sure, he may be worse off in the short term but surely its a risk and reward thing, he wouldn't be signing to go into the youth team, he's 28, he could potentially spend the first half of the season banging in goals and putting himself in the shop window, your Vardys of this world did the same thing late on, also he'd be joining a team that were (possibly) promotion favourites, go up and I'm sure he could have worked a wage rise clause in there. And if it all falls apart and he's not playing and released at the end of the season I'm sure he could get a job back in the profession he's in ?

I can see both sides but turning down a chance to play in the Football League for potentially the only time in your career at 28 is an odd one for me, I'd live on beans and get the Mrs to move back in with her Mum for a couple of years to play professionally.

Ponticelli scores for the u23's again. The other moan would have been "Why sign this non-league striker and push JP further down the pecking order".

This! This is why I can't stand the NOPM crowd! And this is essentially the Telegraph comments section

NOPM are full of shit. We can only spend X% of our income on wages, there is literally no way that we chuck money around even if we had it. Sisu are dicks but if there's no money coming in there's no money going out.

So how can Luton do it then , when their attendances are lower than ours ?

They got 400k for Marriot and signed Collins for around 250k. We sold Thomas for 500k and got a free transfer in Andreu.

It's money that goes into a budget. Do you not think Andreu will be earning more than George was? plus we've signed 11 other players and they may have budgeted the Thomas money for that. Luton also sold Vassell for probably over a million.

Yes but look at the direct contrast. We sell someone for a similar value to them but they seem to be able to go and get proven league 2 players. It's like the money disappears into thin air sometimes.

I get this, but I think having a young family would have played a major role in this. He would have been taking a pay cut and most probably moving away from his finance and young child. Yes, some would say he should back himself to score plenty of goals and shoot up the leagues, but it's still a major gamble.

You could argue that we've gone out and replaced him with higher league level players - Andreu McDonald etc

Who did you want us to buy with the George Thomas money?

It could be that we have a big wage bill than Luton, oh And we also have a CST 2 academy in which we have to fund around £500k pa that Luton don't.

McDonald wasn't playing for Northampton in the league above. Andreu probably can play in league one but does this amount to 500k, I think not.

It's been shown time and time again that money from transfers such as Maddison have not gone back into the team. You can say it goes towards running the club, but it shouldn't as that is a terrible business model.

We've also signed proven L2 players? The only starters I'd say who aren't 'proven' are Stokes, Willis, Grimmer and Jones. The former three have played the majority of their football in L1 and Jones looks like he's going to do well this season.

We've bought players proven at this level and above. Like all the other accounts well see where it's gone in the end and the presumption of SISU's back pocket may be shown false again.

Just because he turned the offer down does not mean it was because of the finances.
Maybe he just didn't want to uproot his family. Maybe his wife didn't want to come or his kids want to move away from their friends.
People are always jumping to conclusions on here based on mere supposition.
