All the other SISU protagonists went instantly, Boddy is still here. Surely that suggests he has a purpose?

I'm sure Doug would want someone left who knows the club as he has no football history and makes sense for the transition. Fisher the ideal candidate but he had too much baggage and a toxic relationship . I'm sure DB will be let go as soon as Doug has a handle on things znd a successor lined up.

We need to build long term commercial relationship with big local business. Not spend all the time scratting around for £3.50 from Jim’s Skip Supplies or whatever. Norwich have close ties with Lotus, Munich brands like Audi,

Was thinking more JLR, Aston Martin, that sort of thing, what other local businesses are headquartered in Cov and Warks?

We’ve got two pretty well established universities in the city with a huge number of students. Must be something that can be done there

An eSports team might be an idea, lots of gaming companies locally particularly Codemasters that might be willing to fund it.

I’d lean into Warwickshire as much as possible, probably through ties to UoW and local councils, get the club more visible in Warwick and Stratford and bring in a richer demographic for sponsors and corporate. Also another reason I think a training ground/academy at the Uni is a smart idea.

From what I can tell we aren’t getting as much sponsored as we could, thinks like the Legends Lounge and Platinum Club could be sponsored by prestige brands.

Still think the fan experience can be better monetised with a subscription model, tailored around various fan avatars. Would need a fair bit of expertise and tech to work right though. Simple things like I’d love to see an app/website that tracked which games I’ve attended and allows me too do simple things like upgrade a ticket or mark it as unused easily.

Frasers is an obvious one as well, though may feel the arena gives them enough visibility.

The club needs to benchmark competitors and evaluate their non match day income and see what the opportunities are

It becomes I would guess fairly easily in the premiership but harder in the championship

Almost certainly the FG deal will not be as favourable as before so income streams are a priority - you get the impression the current team are just not experienced enough to achieve that

Approaches have been made to the local corporates: i.e. Severn Trent, JLR, Aston Martin etc. None have been particularly bothered in the past and I'd imagine all the controversy around the club made the prospect of partnering with it even less appealing.

I think a different approach is needed though which I suspect is what the club are failing to action. They really need to align themselves with the core business/marketing objectives of these businesses and think outside the box in terms of how they can help. Sponsorship is moving away from "sponsor this and that's it" approach. Football clubs are now having to be far more bespoke in their packages/offering and think outside the box to help make a tangible ROI for their partners.

I.e. thinking off the cuff for Aston Martin, the club could look at trying to assist in their apprenticeship application drive for instance. You could have people from AM on hand with a stall in front of the main atrium on the day talking to potential applicants throughout the season and CCFC regularly push things out on socials, offer reduced tickets to AM employees etc.

As stated partnerships in the future need to be far more tailored to the business rather than just offering a basic off the shelf package which really isn't going to offer any kind of ROI. Boddy/Tynan just aren't capable of thinking this way though.

I fail to see what a CEO has to do with on pitch results. If that’s the case then you have to accept I guess Tim Fisher is the most successful and talented chairman the club has ever seen?

I think that’s a strange take. A CEO of a football club can’t take any credit for success?

Not sure you do have to. Fisher was here a long time before Boddy though, and was more involved pre Boddy too - coincidentally a period of decline. Sunlit uplands only since Sir Boddy came in.

That shouldn't be too hard. We've already got a link up with Warwick for their esports thing and it is apparently the best place in the country for esports
The University of Warwick has won the NSE's Esports University of the Year award for 2022/2023, its fifth consecutive title.
