Another strong game from the little man today, and what a turnaround in form at the right time. Credit to him and the coaches, clearly a lot of hard work has gone in and it’s paying off.

Clear first choice starter and deservedly so.

A shadow of a play on word attempt

Allen Resurrection

I was not exactly overwhelmed by the decision to extend Allen’s contract He was instrumental in League 1 but looked lost in the championship He’s been something of a revelation this season Essential cog in the team, high work rate, goals assists and excellent coverage all over the pitch...

What play on words? He’s gone from being a defensive liability and underwhelming going forward to being solid at the back and better on the ball. Redemption is the right word.

Noted that you make no comment on the substance anyway.

Have you said anything positive about the team today? I thought we played pretty well! Dasilva was good too.

If Dasilva was capable of playing at this level consistently then I could happily go into next season with him as first choice and invest the money elsewhere.

Very happy that Dasilva is proving his worth at last. He indeed does look a different player.

Have to put it down to coaching don't you?

Long may it continue.

We need to move bidwell on in summer and keep da Silva to compete for LB with a new signing

Not saying bidwell is shit all of a sudden btw and he put in a beauty of a cross today but build up wise in this lampard team it's just better suited to a technical fullback. people just love bidwell mostly cos they think he is old school if they are honest imo.

I don't think Bidwell has the legs to play in this system to be honest. I'd still keep him though need players like him to set standards in training

Fantastic to see.

Has to be down to the coaching surely - and who would have imaged we would keep a clean sheet with JDS, Binks, Lati and Collins on the pitch?

You don't play representative football at youth level without being a technically good player . He's always had ability but suffered with system changes , form and a very good player in Bidwell competing for the left back role .
Hopefully he can continue his rich vein of form cause him and MvE have the potential to pin teams back

Credit where it’s due, Da Silva has been a strong performer in more recent games on both sides of the ball.

Got another chance when Bidwell's form dipped, but fair play to the lad, he's grabbed his chance with both hands. And looks better with Wright on the left wing rather than EMC.

Excellent again but there's a problem. Who is going to be the next player to pile on and call shite?

Dasilva has really come back strong & another excellent performance yesterday has solidified our left side .
Neat inter passing & certainly stronger in the tackle , Lampard & the coaches have done it again

It's Bassette, keep up! Someone rebooted a months old thread on him just for the occasion. Now we're gonna kick a kid from Belgium because he can't keep Wright and Simms out of a side in the top six. We are weird.

He had a good game on the whole but I still think we need a new 1st choice left back next season

He has the ability to play different positions. We have certainly seen it in recent games.

LB is the last position on the pitch to receive any kind of significant investment so it makes sense that we would see strengthen there in the summer. But if one of the current LBs has to make way then you would have to say it should be Bidwell at this point, which is quite a turnaround.

Had a great game again. There is no doubt the coaching team have significantly improved some players and also try to set us up to mitigate some of our deficiencies. Grimes screening and covering the gaps has been essential in this, especially with two attacking full backs. Even in his less influential matches this part of his game has kept us more solid

I don't know if he's carrying an injury or if has legs have just gone out of the blue, but getting up and down the line was one of his strengths previously now he just looks like an old man.

Always think his strongest games are when he has Wright in front of him. EMC likes to stay on the touchline more and restricts his forward runs and I think Wright helps out better defending as well.
