Afraid so.

Did my eyes deceive me - were we playing 4-5-1 at one stage in the first half with Cody wide mid left ??? - can't believe it !!!

Murphy - 6 - Should have dealt with the final goal.

Keogh - 4 - Struggled.
Cameron - 6 - Solid-ish game, made plenty of well-timed challenges, let down by poor performances around him.
McPake - 4 - All over the place, over-comitted for the first goal, mis-timed jumps and generally looked like gifting goals all game.
Christie - 7 - One of our best players. Real threat goign forward, even on his wrong side.

Clingan - 5 - The game passed him by in the first half, we didn't have enough of the ball for him to influence the game. A few good set-piece deliveries, one leading to a goal.
Deegan - 3 - One of his worst games for us. I really rate him but today he didn't look like a footballer.
Thomas - 7 - Did well. Always looks composed and played one or two great passes to set-up attacks, especially during our period of dominance just after half-time.
McSheffrey - 4 - Largely anonymous, occasionally looked dangerous just after half-time but Christie offered more threat from full back than he did.

McDonald - 5 - Didn't really get involved. Tried hard, a couple of good runs, but struggled to get into the game. Being moved out wide didn't help him.
Jutkiewicz - 6 - Was a handful for their defence. Grabbed a goal, and used his strength fairly well, but not quite at the high level we've seen from him before.

Subs:

Bell - 7 - Seen a few people criticise him, but I thought he really influenced things when he came on. His introduction brought with it our best period of the match. No coincidence there as far as I'm concerned. Made a few tackles as well.
Platt - 7 - Again, made himself a nuisance and got himself a goal. He's a handful for defenders but I think off the bench is definitely where he works best. Let Cody give them a runaround and then Platt can batter them into submission.
Willis - 5 - Tempted to give 6, but he did struggle a little. I don't blame him for the fourth goal (Murphy called it) but he did give it away a few times and looked knackered fairly quickly. Even so, showed some good touches, a good throw and good work in the build up to the equaliser. Some promising signs for sure.

How one bloke gave mcdonald a 6 is amazing, unless he's onabout how many touches of the ball he had all game?

Joe Murphy 5 (at fault for 4th goal)
Richard Keogh 5 (poorest game for a while. the whole back four were nowhere to be seen at times)
James McPake 5 (looked off the pace. Mistimed a number of headers)
Nathan Cameron 5 (badly at fault for 2nd goal)
Cyrus Christie 6 (did okay, but tired as game wore on)
Sammy Clingan 5 (gave the ball away far too much)
Conor Thomas 5 (no impact on the game whatsoever)
Gary Deegan 3 (just one word for him .... shocking!)
Gary McSheffrey 5 (bit anonymous)
Lukas Jutkiewicz 6 (battled hard all game and brought us back into the match with his goal)
Cody McDonald 4 (was he actually on the pitch?)

Substitutes

David Bell 5 (at least brought some width. Chickened out of a tackle again though which really annoyed me)
Clive Platt 6 (Offered something different and we looked better when he came on)
Jordan Willis 6 (another promising youngster perhaps)

MOTM - Juke. Not saying much though, the star man with a score of just 6

Can I just add that upon watching the match highlights, Nathan Cameron was badly at fault for TWO goals, the 2nd and the 3rd.

Can't see how anyone can give him a score of 6 or 7. The 2nd goal was a weak effort of a tackle by him and he should have forced the player out of play and never let him get round him and the 3rd one? Well that was just shocking marking. The Southampton player had about 5 yards of clear space around him around our 6 yard box and he was quite clearly Cameron's man. Watch the highlights and you will see that every other defender in our box is marking a Southampton player apart from Cameron.

Think he therefore needs to be marked down to 4.

the whole back four was a shambles (with the exception of Christie), Cameron was by far the worst player on the pitch

No. Think that honour went to Gary Deegan. One of the worst ever City performances in recent history.

Murphy - at fault for the 4th bigtime
Keogh - 5 - i sit in block 22 so get a good view of our backline in first half.....he was constanly dropping 6-7 yards deeper than the rest of the back line inanticpation of long or diagonal balls.....which on a couple of occasions played ppl onside in the centre when the ball went there instead. There was one decsion the lino got wrong 2 and the southampton player was on and he would have been a one on one with murphy.
Cameron -4 the blokes a liabilty....postionally poor....2nd goal was his fault....can't pass wind...poor.
Mcpake - 5 a few signs of his old self but the bloke can't last 90mins
Christie 6 - defended ok considered he's not a left back - got forward well 2nd half......looked tired though
Clingan 8 - was like a one man team at times......top performance 2nd half....where's that been the rest of the season
Deegan - 4 shocking (we're in blue!) for what its worth i think he stuggles bigtime postionally in a diamond
Thomas 6 - much better 2nd half in centre mid 4
Bell 5 - what did he do
Macca 6 - offers a goal threat that you wouldn't get with baker
Mcdonald 4 - poor, poor, poor (another reason thorn should go)
Juke 7 - typical juke performance

For me McPake was a 3, he got so out of position time after time, leaving others to cover. I blame him for the 2nd goal, he had just flung himself into a 50/50 tackle, lost it & was on his arse when Southampton passed it into the box, Cameron made a last gasp tackle on the first striker to have a chance, but it fell to the goalscorer, McPake should have been on him but was still behind the play. Heroics isn't required at the expense of defensive cover now is it!

Deegan was rubbish, everyone (in the team) was shouting at him to get his finger out.

Cameron made a last ditch tackle? You sure. Seemed to me that he just let the player waltz past him. Cameron very much at fault for the 2nd goal and totally at fault for the third. Not even with 4 yards of the goalscorer.

I never said he played welll, I just made the observation McPake was at fault. The whole defence was torn apart time after time.

Biggest disappointments for me !st half saints kept pumping the ball wide left and Keogh was way off his man ( to central) giving him so much space.

Codey 99% of game was trotting around aimlessly and clueless or just not interested or just lost heart having seen his new team mates for a few games now

Deegan obviously become colour blind as he manage to find a saint with most passes

Just "last ditch tackle" sounds rather generous. If you had said half-hearted tackle I think that would have been more accurate.
