If this happens then it would allow Torp to push into the 10 and Neil would sit next to Grimes.

Would be a solid signing in CM, so not adverse to it.

Rudoni is an excellent player but he does slow down our fluidity and progression. Even before his injury.

Why is everyone obsessed with "who's he playing instead of?" Like strong squads that have the ability to rotate aren't a thing? You just want 11 obvious starters and 9 shite bags on the bench?

We have limited resources and you shouldn’t spend them on positions where we already have excellent starters and experienced backups.

Yet there’s people wanting us to splash £15m+ on Charlie Hughes…

Solid squad player, but not had a look in since Sunderland got promoted.
If Sunderland dont consider him good enough for the Premier league, why would we want him here?

If we are happy to stay in the Championship then yes I'd want him.

You’re in for a real shock if we do go up.

Nah. At that point £15m would seem pretty ‘normal’, but right now it’d be a humongous gamble.

Really it’s at the level we’re at to buy better than what we’ve got unless we get lucky with a foreign signing. Top Championship players cost 8 figures these days. I think the division is a bit of a red herring. We should be looking at the best we can attract and if that’s better than what we’ve got moving on it. It’s Kings job to worry about finances and if he thinks we can afford Hughes and Lampard thinks he’s better than what we’ve got I’m all for it. We spent £4m a piece on backup this season after all.

Blunderland are getting open to selling Patterson, Neil, Cirkin and Rigg.

Neil and Cirkin , move Bidwell on and loan out Brau then we will have DaSilva and Cirkin competing for that LB role with Neil adding strength in the midfield. Both are really good players at this level, then a winger to cover both sides.

I agree.

I’ve always thought Torp would make a good 10. I was surprised we didn’t try him there when Rudoni was injured, perhaps with Eccles alongside Grimes. Neil would be a better fit there than Eccles.

At least, as things stand, Torp does have licence to get forward.

I do think Neil would be a good buy.

It’s his 24th birthday today, so his best years are ahead of him.

So will Kai Andrews

My point is, if we do go up, we need players that are already capable of making their mark in the Premier league, not young players that may improve.
I'd imagine that's why Sunderland bough in Granit Xhaka (for £13m plus add ons) and haven't played Dan Neil this season, if they are willing to let him go, what does that tell you?

Having said that I'd definitely take him on loan till the end of this season.

I suggested him a few months ago, very similar player to Grimes and his contract is up at the end of the season. Virtually ever present for them last season, wouldn’t cost much and exactly the type to help us over the line.

Seen some fan comment on YouTube saying say we shouldn’t sign him because he’s similar to kasey palmer, he’d be a class signing. Whoever says otherwise is an idiot

Dan Neil is an excellent player at this level. He’s consistently good, the complete opposite to Palmer!

Yeah he’s like a polar opposite. High work rate kind of player that can actually manage a full 90 minute game

Wouldn’t say he has the flair of KP, but I don’t think that’s what we need. He’d actually have been ideal to bring on today once we went 1-0 up.

I refuse to watch a clueless YouTuber!

I think we need that kind of signing more than Hughes tbh.

It wasn’t a YouTuber mate, it was someone commenting on the video, was like we should steer clear of signing players like Dan Neil as he’s similar to palmer LOL
