This is not good.

Hope they go down spectacularly

These individuals have become aware of compelling and highly distressing evidence that they have been the victims of abhorrent criminal activity and gross breaches of privacy by Associated Newspapers. Unlawful acts alleged to have taken place include:

1. The hiring of private investigators to secretly place listening devices inside people’s cars and homes
2. The commissioning of individuals to surreptitiously listen into and record people’s live, private telephone calls whilst they were taking place
3. The payment of police officials, with corrupt links to private investigators, for inside, sensitive information
4. The impersonation of individuals to obtain medical information from private hospitals, clinics, and treatment centres by deception
5. The accessing of bank accounts, credit histories and financial transactions through illicit means and manipulation.

For balance, the Mail deny all those claims. Let's watch it play out...

It'd be nice to see some of them in jail for a while. It shouldn't trouble them too much, everyone who reads the Mail thinks it's like a holiday camp anyway.

If Prince Harry brings down the Mail it will be the first useful contribution to British society by a member of the Royal family.

I'm going to assume Meghan Markle's to blame for all this, as she is for the energy crisis and Fillongley bridge delay.

Didn't realise people still bought and read newspapers for yesterday's news. They died for me when The Pink stopped.

The Pink famously involved in its own hacking scandal when it was found to have bugged the phones of officials of the Coventry and District Monday night domino league.

Isn’t the Mail the most read news website on the planet or something?

No.

However in terms of UK 'brands' I think it's just ahead of the Gruaniad, but behind the venerable BBC.

It was at one point just under a decade ago, I need to update my references . Looks like it’s down to sixth now: Most popular websites for news in the world: Monthly top 50 listing
