Dagnall Has His Contract Cancelled
Former Coventry City loanee Chris Dagnall has left Barnsley FC.
Dagnall has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent and is now free to sign for another club.
That could be Coventry City with Steven Pressley saying that Dagnall was in his thoughts.

Never seen him play, but another option can only be a good thing.

If the MK game is anything to go by, he would sniff out a few goals for us, and with Wilson injured for a while, he would get a run in the team. Also, the other players know him and with his work rate, he undoubtedly fits the bill in regard to Pressley's work ethic.

Not convinced, looked like another Roy O'Donovan to be quite honest. Maybe I'm being harsh as he was played out of position more often than not but he looked pretty average on the few occasions I watched him.

Played out of his skin when he came on at Rotherham but we've seen all before from loan players who are looking for a permanent move

Class at Rotherham.

Chris Dagnall in my opinion was a hard working player who was played mainly on the left when Pressley brought him on loan, I think he deserves a six month deal at the least.

Also Steve Waggott will be on CWR later discussing new signings.

Lee Mills springs to mind on that point, but we do need a forward at the mo, so worth a risk

I'd be surprised if we didn't sign him now.

Agreed. He had a great game at Rotherham, and whilst one swallow does not a summer make, he is probably a sensible acquisition which will give us a few options when injuries are an issue. Would initially look to do it on an end of season and review basis as for me, he has yet to really prove himself at any level higher than League 2.

Well this is CCFC and this is your bump back to earth.

Pressley confirmed: "We are interested in Chris but I believe several other clubs are as well so he will obviously be considering his options."

In other words.

Pressley Confirmed: Chris wants more than a Bag Crisps and a Yorkie bar every week to play for us and has better offers elsewhere.

I've not seen him play this year too much, but I am not convinced about him yet ... but the words on the forum encourage me to think I may be wrong ... so will keep an open mind about him.

Played well against MK and Swindon, both times putting in a good shift. He not particularly quick but he's what I'd call a tidy player (good close control, can hold the ball up and bring others into play) contract til the end of the season would make sense for both parties imo

Very hardworking but not sure he'd fit our long term plans. But short term, and for the immediate future with Clarke and Wilson struggling with injuries (Wilson obviously unavoidable but Clarkes is a second injury in a short space of time) I think he could offer us something. Never going to be a 15-20 goal a season striker, but may get a few if was the line striker (with midfielders chipping in as they have been)

I was thinking about Lee Mills when I put that last post on...thought it might be a bit too far back for some people on here to remember though! He looked an absolute world beater during his loan spell but was absolute dog shit after we signed him. Another one who springs to mind is Bjarni Gudjonson

He'd be mad to take a contract from anyone until the end of the season. He will have a mortgage and family to feed so he will want 2.5 years and who could blame him.

Pressley saying Dagnal has several options ,and although he has until 3hrs before Kick off on Sunday for an emergency acquisition does not expect to have anyone In .

Its worth remembering that by Sunday we are virtually half way through the month.

Lee Mills. Now that's a blast from the past. Remember having a bust up with a fellow supporter in the West Terrace over him! Only verbal, but he didn't like that I thought he was shit (and shouted something to that effect)
