Possibility of The Royle family coming back
Not sure if it would be a series or a special
Loved the first 2 series but in my opinion some of the Christmas specials were very hit and miss
Although the Queen of Sheba was possibly the best episode in my opinion
And Jim Royle is a great character one of the few comedies along with Phoenix nights who appreciate that silence can be funny

Heads up for any iTunes users. There's some complete series classics on offer. Dad's Army, Only Fools, Porridge, Hi-Di-Hi Fawlty Towers and It Ain't Half Hot Mum all reduced.
There's also Series 1 of The Musters, which is 38 episodes, for £3.99! Snapped that one up, looks like they're had some restoration done on them as well as the picture quality is a lot better than I remember from when they were last on TV.
No, don't!! Hard to believe that the Beeb who produced Only Fools and Horses and Blackadder and Fawlty Towers and Porridge and Alan Partridge, could come out with the pile of dogs droppings that was My Family. Robert Lyndsey is such a good comedic actor too.
I watched a few episodes and honestly don't think I laughed once. I thought Terry and June was bad, but this. ......
Going Straight was a big, big mistake. I was so happy when I heard they were making it and there must have been a huge clamour for it from the viewers, but they should have resisted.
Porridge worked because of its setting and characters. You can't just suddenly pluck out certain characters and plonk them in a total different scenario and hope to replicate the success.
Frasier worked and worked really well, but if you look back at Cheers episodes, Frasier was a much different character.

Just curious - it was a comedy drama rather than a sitcom as I think was A W Pet really but never really took off. I really liked it - same as The History Man.
I couldn't stand Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads - I thought it was very tedious sit com material. One of the main actors really couldn't stand it either!

Well there have definitely been episodes shown as I have said and I remember two or three years ago watching several episodes with my daughter and we both would sing the theme tune together, as she loved it.
The fall out is ridiculous too. Bewes said something very slightly inappropriate, apologised for it the very next day, but Bolam hasn't spoken to him in 40 years because of it.
I have always liked Bolam as an actor, but dear me, that comes across as very, very petty and bitter.
And I like the way he 'hated it' but did it for 12 years! Ha!
Just strikes me that he did it, moved on and then didn't want to talk about it after and even if he did hate it, is that any justification to state that it wasn't very good, cos it was incredibly popular and got a lot of critical acclaim. The writing is brilliant. It's a very funny show to my mind and I would recommend it to anyone.
Even my missus laughed at it and trust me, that is a very hard thing to achieve.
Also comes across to me that Bewes is really moaning because he's done next to nothing since and he's a bit of a one trick pony.
