Coventry City agree transfer with League One club

Mark Robins has been busy trimming his Sky Blues squad this January
www.coventrytelegraph.net

Hope he does well.

That’s got to be the squad to the bone now unless you want to ship the likes Kelly and Shipley out. If we can’t afford another player in now we never will be able to.

You’d think so. Not expecting to see anything though.

Nice. Glad we're not carrying much deadwood now. I really hope we bring in a talented attacking midfielder tomorrow.

Would he meet the work permit rules to join someone else permanently?

Good luck to him. Came and gave it a shot but not championship standard

Technically I think he has some decent attributes (remember the half against Forest). Unfortunately his positioning and concentration often let him down. Be interesting to see how he does.

Not sure he’s League 1 standard either

There's potentially a player there if he takes onboard the coaching etc. but we can't afford the risk of throwing points away whilst he learns.

Think he’ll do alright in L1 TBH. Can be dangerous and less likely to be punished at that level.

I hope the L1 club that he's potentially off to on loan isn't Sunderland.........or the deal might be off.

I might get stick for this but i don’t think he’s that bad at all. I don’t really see the need for us to get rid of him unless we use the wages to get someone else in because he was good emergency backup if nothing else

Tbh I think the manager had given up on him
He was firmly in the bomb squad until called back to the bench due to injury and illness

Looked a World beater for half a game at Nottingham Forest and it was progressively downhill from there afterwards.

If its true its a great move for him, 8th in the Portugese top division, and likely to pay at least half his wages.

Hopefully the Portugese side have offered to pay all his wages plus pay a fee at end of the season. They are a mid table side i believe in Portugal

Could it be 2 out De Costa to Portugal and different player to L1

Wish him all the best. Bit of a headless chicken, but can't really fault his attitude.

Looks a successful window so far in terms of outgoings (Walker excluded).
Desperately need some incomings though

Moore
Wilson

Kane
Dabo
Maatsen
Bidwell

Rose
Fadz
Hyam
Clarke-Salter

Sheaf
Hamer
Kelly
Eccles

Ohare
Allen
Shipley

Godden
Gyokeres
Waghorn

No glaring weaknesses in the squad now. If we could sign an attacking midfielder (probably on loan) it would be a very good window.

I would not be shocked if Jones goes out to get minutes. If he does not sure what it means going forward with us. Seems like MR is already setting up his plan for next season as those out a part from Cashman and Burroughs are being sent out with intentions of sealing deals elsewhere.

Expected more from him and unfortunately he underachieved. Like Hillsner, Kasta, Jobello, it’s all about results which he couldn’t deliver.

Feel for JJones a bit, a lot of determination and talent, just needs a shot at a first team, whether that be here or somewhere else. I hope it's here as I like the lads attitude after 3 horrendous injuries.

He came from a not great standard and clearly wasn’t a half arsed waster like Kasta, just not good enough. Blame the scouts rather than the player
