a lot of dog shit on this thread

gurney is crap yes, but oggy is miles above any of the other shite on local radio. He actually understands the game and can explain it pretty well, his commentary has come on leaps and bounds.

tbf the people complaining have probably been used to sky sports commentary of man united until about last season….

Think CWR aren't that bad, better than a lot of other teams have and even at their worst this season, they've been a lot worse in the past.

Remember when we were winning the league and any fans who wanted to call up and praise the players efforts were ignored and the presenters changed the subject to how shit our owners were as if we all needed to be reminded constantly of the bleeding obvious. Strangely any criticism of Wasps murky position wasn't permitted and calls were abruptly ended if I recall during the days of Linnell and Eakin.

The weekly call with Nick from Birmingham which win, lose or draw always went

"Stuart, I'm really disappointed with how we're doing" ...

"Did you watch the game Nick?"

"Err, No I didn't"

Was strangely reassuring and comforting that we could always rely on Nick from Birmingham in those uncertain times.

Hi Oggayy Hi Cloive, I wasnt actually at the game tonoight but I was listening to you two and I thought we were off it a bit tonoight, However that Dacosta sounds like he could be a top player one day certainly more than Daabo

Should bring Dave Bennett back when he's had a few in hospitality.
Would love to hear Clive back for one match if/when we get promoted, as he's been through the pain journey with the rest of us over the last 25 years.

Brummie Nick was the third member of Robins/Viveash Triumvirate that got us where we are today

Gurney is scared to say the word ‘bender’ even though every city fan sings it, it’s embarrassing as are the whole team bar oggy. Bring back Clive and send gurney back to West Brom

He also goes on about WBA a lot more than other teams, which is just weird.

CWR is ok I suppose but has got worse and there was a solid team there before. That’s why people are cross because they made it worse.
Who knows what happened with Clive - could have been his decision having been pushed out by Gurney to just doing commentary and not being the presenter . The fact he is still doing bits and pieces suggests he might have just wanted to semi retire

Such a shame though. This season would have been a great way for him to bow out. Gurney likes to reminisce about the Prem days but it’s Clive who did the hard yards with us for the last 25 odd years and it definitely would mean more.

It is a shame Geoff Foster was forced into early retirement owing to his health issues - Despite being a fan always found him the consummate professional and it would have been nice if he could have worked through the journey

I have no source on this, but I suspect Clive felt cornered into accepting worse terms than before with Rob now in the mix. I'm sure budgets are tight and given the choice, Clive chose to go freelance instead and step away from the coverage. It's a real shame because I do think it's a big downgrade.
