if we perform in the next 13 games as we have in the last 13, and likewise for those with 14 or 15 games left

table will finish

bournemouth 88
doncaster 87
yeovil 86
swindon 84
brentford 83
sheff u 79

tranmere 75
cov 74
walsall 74

still 5 points off play offs

suggesting we need nearer 29 points from 13 games
or 9 wins 2 draws 2 defeats

may be a step too far, and a heartbreaking 7th may be the best we can do

Edit.. website i used may be out of date and we may be nearer to 76

Surely Yeovil can't keep this up though?

To stand a chance we need to completely turn around our home form.

Played 16 won 5 drawn 5 lost 6.

Not necessarily, we have been averaging 2 pts per game for months (with shit home form) and that will be enough.

Agree that an improvement at home would help though!

Good work on the stats but it doesn't work out like that as the top 8 will be playing each other so one win in one of those games will bring a 6 point swing.

For example we still have to play Bournemouth, Swindon, Brentford and Walsall win all of those and we will be much closer.

You have to bear in mind though that we also have yet to play: Bournemouth; Swindon; Brentford; Walsall; Doncaster

Home form is the worrying factor (Swindon, Brentford, Doncaster) - I fear THAT is where we could miss out big-time.

It is just such a shame we effectively sacrificed 17% of our season (three points from the first eight games).

To give some idea of what a difference-maker that was: if we had scored the same average of points for those first eight games as we have for the rest of the season, then Coventry would be in first place, leading by four points.

...and even fairly conservatively looking at home form under MR if we had performed anywhere near like our away form 8 extra points - level with Bournemouth!
