Nice to be 4th in this current form league, and if we'd won, we'd have been 2nd...clearly MR is doing something right...good job that man :claping hands:

The poor start has killed us IMO, if we can get a top 10 finish it will be a good season. I expect us to challenge next season for the title. Still have huge hopes for the JPT.

Agree with all that SBUP.

Top 10 would be excellent.

Top 10, a JPT win and a prem team in the FA Cup please. Funny how your expectations change isn't it?

I still think the aim HAS to be the playoffs. Whether it's by goal difference going in off McSheffreys backside in the 94th minute of our last game, it's got to be to aim for 6th.

It's a big ask, but if we are 2nd in the form table and improving, it can give the players a goal and an incentive.

We are not even half way through yet. A lot can change.

It's so much more than a big ask though and that's the problem.

It's automatic promotion form from now until the end of the season. It's perhaps only losing 4 or 5 more games for the rest of the entire campaign.

If it was just a big ask then even I might start to believe it. But is so much more.

History is against us though. Looked back at L1 table for last 5 years and no team outside the top 10 after 20 games has made it into the top 6.

The old history thing again :thinking about:

Most teams are in the bottom half because they are shite. 3 points from our first 8 games put us there. Main reason for this was the Shaw period. Teams near the bottom of the table are normally not good enough to go on a run. How are we doing at the moment? Good enough to keep climbing up the table? We are one of the form teams now.

History........lets not bother going to any more games if you ever expect us to get promotion ever again if history is everything. I am in my 40's now. We have never finished in the top 6 in all the time I have been alive. If we go by history......nearly 50 years is a fair bit more than the 5 you used......we will never get promoted ever again. The only way is down

I still have hope for this season. If the results keep coming in and we keep slowly getting closer there is enough games to do something. or are we saying the top 10 sides have a chance and the rest might as well give up? The top 10 sides will all have bad runs. some are on bad runs now.

Records are there to be broken. Just hope it is our turn for once.

Another thing giving me (fools) hope is Reading last year, 15th until Jan (21 or so points off 1st) and they win it quite easily in the end.

I think we have a good enough team for top 6 min, doesn't mean we'll get there though.

Reading have had a pedigree of success over the past few years though. When you've done it once you have belief you can do it again. Teams who have been up and down know they have the capacity for success.

Last time we did it in the league it was 1967.

Don't get me wrong I hope we can keep this form going.10 points every 5 games, like we've just done ,till the end of the season and we'll be in with a shout. I'm in the same situation as you. First season ticket in 1970(Aged 4)& every year thinking this will be our year. Heres hoping this will be the one! PUSB

Even though some on here are even older, still doesn't mean they weren't in nappies at the time!
