how comes players who play for a team in the cup aren't allowed to play for another team that season, yet managers are ?

Hughes, after being knocked out of FA Cup by CCFC :), gets sacked, walks into Southampton job and first game is to get them to Wembley in the same competition he was knocked out of

Don't think there are many managers playing for their teams at all to be honest.

Isn't it a hangover from the days before transfer windows? It stopped big clubs from buying the best player of a team they're due to pay and increase their chances of winning the cup (when clubs cared about that)

It's a bit shite how managers can just move and walk into another job.

They should have a stadium ban for the remaining games.

For the FA cup games, so if Hughes already went out against us and gets employed by Southampton he should get a stadium ban for their games left in the competition :)
