This week i wanna keep the cup vibe going. After Salford's impressive display against Notts County, it got me thinking. What is the biggest FA Cup shock EVER? Of course, our defeat at the hands of Sutton United has to be up there, but hopefully we can think of some that dont include us having our arses handed to us by lower league opposition. Back to normal shows this week on Sports Lounge. Played a 1 hour pre-record last week, as Hillz needed one of my hours for this special show. Anyways, let us know your answers and why you've chosen that game. I'll read out as many as i can during the live show this Thursday, starting 10am on 98.6 Hillz FM. Thanks again for your contribution. PUSB"

There are numerous lists of the 'greatest FA Cup shocks' on the internet. Its probably not productive to repeat it all here. Just Google them.
Here's one relevant link:
http://www.thegiantkillers.co.uk/

Interestingly, the above site ranks four Coventry defeats (no victories) in their top list:

No 4: 1989 Sutton United 2-1 Coventry City
No 83: 1968 Tranmere Rovers 2-0 Coventry City
No 100: 1971 Rochdale 2-1 Coventry City
No 109: 1990 Northampton 1-0 Coventry City

Went through all the list and Colchester beating Leeds has to be the biggest shock of all. At the time Colchester were languishing in division 4 and Leeds were the Chelsea/Arsenal of the day, massive shock

Aren't we the only top division team to lose to a non league team (at the time)?

One of my first ever games as a City supporter was against Kings Lynn in the FA Cup back when Jimmy Hill had just taken over as manager. They were a lowly non-league club and even though we were in the Third Division there was a big gap between the two teams, but they beat us and it was called a massive cup shock.

A big shock was Wrexham beating Arsenal when Micky Thomas scored the cracking free kick.

Didnt Luton as a non league team beat Norwich from the Premier League in 2013, the first non league team to beat a top flight club since Sutton. I bloody hate Sutton.

I'm another member of the Sky Blues lower league defeat support group I still hold some mental scars from Sutton, Northampton and Cambridge Utd. But the worst defeat (how we capitulated, not the result) was not the FA Cup. I was at Coventry vs Scarborough in the 92-93 League Cup. Cov were in the Premiership, Scarborough were in Division 3. Two legged game, we won the home leg 2-0 in a relaxed manner and went up to the McCain Stadium full of confidence. Fools ! We lost 3-0 and went out 3-2 on aggregate. Most embarrassing game I've ever been to and in TV coverage, I can be seen behind the Cov goal holding my head in my hands as the ball bounces past Oggy for Scarborough's 3rd goal.... Mood killed and ultimately slaughtered by the Aston Villa supporting Ticket Collector on the train home.
