im unsure if any other thread has been started but here i go..
After speaking with a Villa fan and a Arsenal fan and explained the fact the average League 1 game is 5,000 and we would easily beat that i went on to say every team (apart from a couple, Sheffeild United & Portsmouth, ect) will come to the Ricoh and treat us like our cup final game and it will be fun to see how many people turn up for home games in the away end and see teams like Shewsbury, Walsall, Yeovil ect at the Ricoh will blow their minds because they dont have anything like that for their home games (massive score board, undersoil heating, all seating ect)
They then went on to add that i was being arrogant and teams wont be intimidated by us. But i think if we cause enough noise it will effect the players on the pitch and keep the away end quiet. To be honest i will be embarrassed to be a Sky Blue if ANY team that comes to the Ricoh outsings us. I want to make sure that we are the "West Ham" of League 1 this season.
I am fairly sure that this every team will treat playing us will feel like it is their cup final thing bollocks. As much as it pains me to say it, I ve always found that outside of Cov we are a nothing club
And the idea of away fans and players coming to the Ricoh and being startled like village idiots by the experience I don t buy. We will be successful by what we do on the pitch
Yeah i dont think teams will treat it any differnt than most away games. A trip to the ricoh will give them a nice pitch to play on and in a nice ground although it will be a half empty ground. teams will enjoy playing at the ricoh as opposse to being scared. However we start winning most home games and then teams wont want to come because we will more than likely send them home with nopthing. As mentioned before its results on the pitch that matter.
Sorry to be another negative response, but that word has been used quite a bit over the last year. It really bugs me. Never be embarrassed. We are the Sky Blues of Coventry City, regardless of who's in charge, who's playing, how they play and how many turn up on a match day. We have a unique history to be proud of.

I am sure we will trounce every team that comes to Fortress Ricoh. They will be in awe at all the empty seats and the atmosphere which if last season was anything to go be will resemble a wake.
On a more serious note if anyone really thinks this they should recall when Grimsby came to town 11 or so years ago. Grimsby - how we laughed - and 90 minutes later how we cried.
There will be a lot of away supporters come to tick us off their stadiums visited list. The Ricoh is without doubt the best Arena in League 1. I doubt very much we have the best team though, so the Coventry support this year will be possibly more vital than in any time during the last 40 years, if nothing else to help us avoid further losses and inspire SISU not to walk away and dump the whole shebang!!
I've been to a few cup games when we've taken on lower league teams who have shown up in force and treated the game like a big day out. Thousands of Bristol City fans turned up in what was mickey's last game.
Thats what i was getting at, i wanted to say fans will come to the Ricoh and be amazed and i agree once we start winning games at home more and more teams will not want to come to us, much like what QPR did before Watford beat them a couple of seasons ago
