Haha good try. Franklins Gardens is just a bit closer to me than the Ricoh, so I can get to good top class rugby already

You should never get dressed when you are angry. You might choose the wrong belt and won't be 100% fabulous.

Happy to be part of the problem then? You are not a CCFC fan as far as I'm concerned.

Just noticed a name I have not seen before "Henry the Wasp" foolishly maybe, I have not looked at his all important like to post ratio but assume he is a decent bloke. This got me thinking how many regular crossover fans are there that watch both CCFC and Wasps avidly when they are playing at the Ricoh.

Should we ever split our ground sharing arrangement this will no force those fans to choose where their loyalty lies.

Good point.
this weekend is a prime example.
If no City game I would normally go up to Cov Rugby but they are away to Darlington.
Wasps for some strange reason ( probably due to TV) playing on Friday night.

I know a few people that bring their kids to both. One of those even played for Cov Rugby, however, he doesn't feel much love for them saying how badly organised it was while he was there; and how they never looked after him after certain injuries.

Coventry Rugby is to Wasps what Sphinx is to City. If people want to watch good rugby and good football fair play I say.

Number 1 priority Sky Blues and respect people who hate Wasps. I personally just enjoy watching sport and am far too shallow to bother with principles! So if there is a Wasps Rugby game, a high profile snooker tournament or a big ice hockey game In the locality I'll have a watch, I'm just a whore!

I know a couple of people who will watch wasps but won't go to watch ccfc until sisu are gone .
In my opinion , wasps and the council collectively screwed over our short -medium term future by aquiring the stadium , Anne lucas knows full well oqnership is temporary and for a supposed coventry fan sure went out her way to screw not sisu , but coventry city football club .
So with that in mind i will never watch wasps .

I should have added that sisu also helped screw us .. but we all know that anyways .
But ownership is for the most part temporary in football , sisu are not forgiven , but i love the football club too much

Just to clarify my OP. I don't understand CCFC fans not going to A Wasps game ( not all games) because they 'hate Wasps' and don't have a full understandable reason behind it. I'd also like to clarify that by going to the odd game doesn't mean I am backing a sporting franchise. I didn't agree to Cov moving away and I don't agree with wasps moving out of their usual territory. I simply got offered a ticket to watch a live game. I don't even like Rugby that much. Does going to a live game make me fanatical? I went to watch cov play at MK Dons, does that mean I support what they have done? No. It's a day out that is all. And level of play does affect things. I'm not a massive rugby fan so I'm not likely to watch a rugby match from low leagues than watch a European game against Toulon.

To me it is nothing to do with the Ricoh.

It was wrong for us to be taken to Northampton and away from our city and local supporters. For this reason I never went to Northampton. It was wrong to have taken Wasps away from London and their local supporters. For this reason I would never consider going to watch Wasps play. And I do go to the occasional rugger game.

Although I will say I have no interest in rugby you're pretty much spot on. I don't agree with the idea of taking teams away from their fans and home. We didn't like it when it happened to us and I'm certainly not going to support financially or otherwise teams where this has happened.

Italia can't tell his arse from his elbow, his excuse used to be that CCFC played the same day as CRFC but he stopped using that one since Wasps decided they want to play predominantly on the Saturday.

I understand this point of view and I certainly would hate to see UK sport go down the US franchise route. I think many teams have strong historic ties to a community and this is probably more so due to where some of the UK football and rugby teams came from and how they evolved, representing the fabric of that city and town.

Just look at city, it's a microcosm of Coventry: pretty and non, descript, goes through turmoil, rises like a Phoenix, has a little heyday, is pretty grim and stagnant for a while and then things are slowly getting better.

I digress...

I don't think this is like the US model, mainly as Wasps had a larger fan base that wasn't just from London, mainly due to precious other moves. If you combine that with the fact that it was either move and survive, stay and die then for me it isn't quite like the American form of an owner getting bored and want to uproot to a new city thousands of miles away as a different state are offering land for a stadium or attractive benefit to move.

It was a long time ago. However, Arsenal's move from south London (Woolwich) to north London back then was analogous to the time/cost move for Wasps fans. However no one kicks up a stink about that and how long it would have taken a true fan to get from Woolich to the new ground on their penny farthing! Boo, hiss. Original franchisers! (It is panto season after all and us football fans love a good panto villain!)

Not an excuse as I have never wanted to go to watch CRFC so just pointing out that they played at the same time as CCFC.
Shot down the argument at the time that Wasps were interfering with CRFC crowds when in reality it was CCFC.

Hello there
I'd just like to clarify i have never followed wasps rfc. Nor will i ever go to a wasps game. I sincerely hope the ricoh is a massive failure for them and they have to piss off back down south. I have massive sympathy for their real fans who have been sold out. How any Coventry fan can watch wasps at the ricoh after what sisu did by taking us to Northampton, is baffling.

I thought about changing the username, but then I thought fuck em. Hopefully I will be using it long after they are gone.
You are right about me being a decent bloke though.

So what's the situation then in terms of forum law. If you go to the odd Wasps game is that the end of your "real fan" aspirations?
