I guess no-one has opened a thread because it's just so depressing. England collapsing like a deck of cards in every game. Every pitch a spinners paradise and India have the world's best spinners and we have the world's worst. Our 'world-class' batsmen (Cook, Root) nowhere near as good as their world class players. They win the toss and they win. Then we win the toss and they still win. And on it goes .....

Also the arrogance that we can just roll up anywhere around the world and beat people with 4 seamers etc... Staggering.

Would love to see the stats for our seamers and pace bowlers, but I bet it is very poor.

Think Jimmy Anderson has poor stats for this series. He's a great bowler, but needs the right conditions in order to get swing and reverse swing.

We do keep collapsing don't we. Getting very embarrassing.

Most test cricket is being won by the home teams who have the best skills in home conditions, England have been poor but will be strong again next summer. Cook is far to negative as a captain but there is nobody else to lead them at this time, I wouldn't give it Root too much already for him to do I would wait and go for Buttler.

Not sure when they are here next but we must produce wickets that suit our swing bowlers, nice green with little wear.

Not so. In 2013 in India, we won a four test series 2-1 with one match drawn. Of course back then we had Pietersen and Cook at their best.

I think Cook will step down after this tour, we didn't expect to win but we just cannot match them in their backyard but having said that I don't think anyone could. I like cook but he is trying to play attritional cricket with young, aggressive players it's not working but we have to bring the context of the fantastic opposition

I would have taken Ian Bell to bat at three and played one less bowler he plays the spinners better than any of the England batsman that are currently there.

England about to get slaughtered again in the fifth test. Got nowhere near enough runs in the first innings, on a perfect pitch with Cook, Jennings, Stokes and Buttler all out very cheaply. Rescued again by lower order batsmen (Rashid and Dawson) making more than all the established batsmen except Moeen. India scoring at 4 runs per over, England 3 runs per over. I guess we should celebrate we got Rahul out for only 199.

They really are a pathetic lot with just a couple of exceptions. More than Cook is to blame, the blame must be shared by all the players. At least Hameed, Jennings and Dawson show some promise for the future. But where are our spin bowlers?

No way we are going to get that playing over there. I would reckon a defeat of around 150 perhaps. We are just not coping with the conditions and the spin.

Not sure why everyone is so down on English, particularly in the One day game, England have made a massive jump forward. India have not lost an ODI at home in around a year... The "arrogance" of rocking up with 4 seamers, I would suggest it isnt arrogance, we just have not got a top line spinner. I rate Moeen, however he isnt a top line spinner but batting at 7 he is very very crucial.

I actually admire English Cricket, think back 20 years ago, we were in the doldrums had no clear plan to take the national team forward. Now we have a group of players who are very competitive in all forms of the game, in a period of the game where the strength of all nations is very high.

If our only our Club and international team could do similar!

Well at least they gave it a good go, but it never really looked on.

India win by 15 runs, that wins them the series, 2-0 up with 1 to go.

Good effort by England. Think there will be some questions about Englands bowling towards the end of the India innings. They don't seem to be able to apply pressure at the death the way other sides can.

Seamers are all carbon copies of each other, no variation all mid 80's up and down.

Easy pickings.

We lack a toe crushing 90mph like Mitchell Starc, shame Tymal Mills injury problems mean he can only bowl 4 overs a day otherwise he'd be ideal.

Big issue is no spinner with control no way on this planet should a spinner only bowl 6 of 50 overs in India.

Think the stat was though that our spinners had taken just 2 wickets for something like 330 runs.

Can see why.
