Sacking head coach Brendon McCullum after England's Ashes debacle would have been the "easy thing to do", according to England and Wales Cricket Board chief executive Richard Gould.
One thing that has emerged from the various messes is that there is next to no communication between England management/coaching and the counties. Not how are players playing, what they need to be doing to be considered for selection - obviously runs & wickets don't seem to factor into the current England thinking.
