Less than a week after the chief exec of the ECB once again made assurances that selling teams in The Hundred would not lead to the exclusion of Pakistani players we have this:

The Hundred: IPL-linked teams 'not considering Pakistan players'

Four sides in The Hundred with links to the IPL are not expected to sign players from Pakistan in next month's auction.

The loss is for those teams other teams should sign a lot of the available players and make them stronger.

We need to get the Super 8 stage off to a good start but beating Sri Lanka on their home turf won't be easy.

We have been pretty poor in this tournament but if our best players can find some form I think we could, with a dose of good fortune, make it to the final where we will be thrashed by India
