The team is woefully underprepared for this series and - as I said to the wife yesterday - they shouldn't be picking Bethell, given that he has barely played any first class cricket this year. To expect a young player, with that lack of experience and game time, in a downcast and beaten side, to come out in front of 100,000 baying Aussie fans and play well is ridiculous. He is a very promising talent but they are going to ruin him if they carry on like this. How long before the media get on his back?
Maybe there is a cricket board dumber than ECB. Cricket Australia recently announced big losses yet "allow" a pitch like this where they'll likely lose 2 to 3 days of 90k plus crowds.
Still would have batted Stokes at 3 and tried to protect Bethell a little.
Pretty much sums the tour up. Get them out for a low score to give ourselves a chance and then do things like that. The response from Aggers and Tuffers is all of us
It's beyond parody at this point. In all honesty it's so bad you wouldn't be surprised if some huge betting scam comes to light.

I’d prefer it if it was just match fixing rather than being this bad to be fair. I remember when we had the infamous ‘Fredalo’ incident, this lot seem to have multiple of these a week.
Agnew’s quote of ‘it’s like nothing that’s been said in the last month has gone in’ is bang on. Genuinely, it’s what you see in a Sunday village friendly: just go out there and tee off.
In his defence he had to break up the field positions as they had us pinned down - virtually every ball in the first 4 overs was taking a wicket - true maybe the first ball was a bit previous

Spot on. Stokes is the only one with the temperament and technique to play at 3 out of that lot and unless he’d bowled a shedload should’ve gone in there. Throwing Bethall to the wolves when we’re usually one wicket down within a couple of overs is asking a bit much
