basically they were praying they could get 3 Tests out of him. Says a lot about their confidence in the next tier of quicks.

It seems that lately they're far more concerned with just outright pace than anything else.

Glenn McGrath wasn't the quickest, but he was so accurate and able to move the ball about he was a constant threat.

Oh, and we have coaches (seemingly for the last decade) who seem to basically resort to bouncers all the time, even though the stats show you're far better actually aiming at the wickets.
