Well - we are still in with a chance - have listened all night - like being on big dipper ! Mmm slightly dodgy dismissal of Smith - he shouldn’t have walked anywhere

Could’ve done with that archer wicket sticking. Feels like we might be 50 or so light

For all the hype about this team the Ashes in Oz is the true test and so far at least is one they are failing

Whats pathetic here is thats the greatest opportunity we've ever had to take a 1-0 lead in an ashes series in Aus in about 70 years

Instead we've absolutely shat the bed

Not sure there was that much hype. Batting line up always fragile and while we’re 0-10 for 1 constantly that’s not gonna change. Our bowling attack is great when fit but batters need to back them up. Agree, along with India away, it’s still the ultimate test

Biggest frustration is we’ve given out of form Aussie batters a chance to play themselves into form without scoreboard pressure final innings.

England gonna England really. It’s still too much like watching my own club bat on a Sunday with some strong bowlers undermined by batsmen who can’t help themselves in the middle.

The difference is that Test standard batsmen should have better discipline than this.

I think cricket should be played very differently to how I think football should be played. Building an innings in a test match requires skill in knowing when to bed in, when to attack and how to grab singles and twos with less risk.

Going all out attack will make for better TV and occasionally produce some stunning victories, but it won’t do as well for results in the long term. I predicted a 5-0 whitewash coming into this and stand by it, it’s far too gung ho an approach.

Fully agree. As being shown by the Aussies right now, you can be attack minded and aggressive without gifting wickets. Our Bazball batting collapses are just pathetic and needless. How many went edged today reaching outside for balls that should just be left? Far too many!

And there is the issue. Its well documented that it dies down on day 2 and 3. We should have bowled first but even then we probably wouldnt have been batting in our first innings now as we struggle to bat more than 50 overs.

Bit early for that. Batsmen need to get their heads in the game quickly though

We aren’t going to suddenly change approach during a series. This is a side that lives and mostly dies by the sword of needlessly chucking wickets away.

I think they asked England to bowl at a pathetic over rate in order to stretch it to two days.

The game finished with over 40 overs of the full two-day allocation unbowled, so it was really about a day and a half

If our batting doesn't improve we may yet see the world's first one day match match in this series

Having a first innings lead and to still lose a test match inside 2 days is incredibly embarrassing.

At least things cant get any worse!

And hopefully that's the last we see of Crawley.
