Almost get caught out with a quick free kick but Obrien throws himself in front to put the attack off and the cross comes to nothing.

City counter and Armstrong uses his pace which Crewe can't handle, wins a free kick vet close to the area.

What was the secondary applause in aid of? I think it was instigated by the Crewe fans but couldn't quite see?

It sounds like we are all over them! I f**kin love what Mogga has done with us. If he gets us back to the championship, then Premiership, I could see a shiny statue of him in front of (insert relevant ground name) in the near future!

Maddison with a shot from the edge of the box, goes over

Surprised Crewe are persisting with their short GK routine as we are defending everyone brilliantly from the front. Only take one misplaced pass and we'll be in.

As I type they go long and almost make the most of it

Maddison goes down looking for a pen after doing well to get into the box and close to goal. Goes down too easily, ref not interested. In fairness there was little appeal but he blatantly ran into his man, that is all.

Stokes takes a shot, keeper parties wide

Rubén runs into the box, almost loses the ball completely but it falls kindly despite a challenge, he takes a first time shot although could have passed to Armstrong but it just goes wide. Enough power but lacked direction

Ruben should have scored there, snatched at it when he should have opened his body and gone for the other corner..

Tbf, for all the possession and shots, we haven't tested their keeper enough, most of his saves have come from 20+ yard potshots. The times we've got around the back we've lacked composure.

On the plus side it sounds like we've kept going after conceding. We've had a habit in the past of collapsing when anything goes wrong.
