Forgive my ignorance, but why has covid given rise to more injuries this deep into the season? Completely understandable after a substantial lay off but managers are still blaming the pandemic. Im confused.

Quite a few of our players have had covid. Some were asymptomatic
No one is sure if having no symptoms has any effect on fitness but many of those who have a full blown dose take a while to recover. The Newcastle lads being the best known examples.
But Herts is right the most important factor is the attrition caused by so many games

Also think the training they can do is limited so routines are different. Also think fans underestimate the effect of not playing or training for months.

It's been over the period of the pandemic
The club doesn't announce if any players have tested positive unless they are regular first team guys
It's the right way to go really from a privacy view

Absolutely and I have been surprised that clubs have said about individual players. This may explain the indifferent form of some players.

Jordan Thompson out for up to three months after slicing his foot open in the shower. FFS.

Sky Blues' Jordon Thompson suffers freak injury in shower

The 21-year-old centre-half has suffered what Coventry City manager Mark Robins says is one of the most bizarre injuries he's ever seen

I remember ray woods was out for ages injuring himself changing tyre on his car.

after watching the docs about Man City and Spurs their players spent half the day having treatments massages etc so if Covid restrictions prevent those that prob doesn’t help with injuries either
