Maybe they advertised in the telegraph? Would explain just the 2 responses.

And I can guarantee the advert said "experience is a must" and "18+"

It probably pays less than what people can get on benefits so people are not fussed.

Plus telesales isn't the best job in the world when it comes to people telling you to piss off all the time!

I get letters all the time with people asking me for jobs, it must be the industry or the advert!

I do think that our country has got itself into a bit of predicament. Due to the whole credit card / loan culture which the Labour government encourged we find ourselves with a group of people who have since lost their job and are now unable to earn suffiecently more than the benefits on offer, or enough to clear their current monthly outgaings.

While the Telegraph screams they can earn up to £400 per week, I would ask, how many of them earn that amount?

How many of those have been been paying record amounts of interest on loans / mortgages over the last couple of years....

Probably right there.

I was due to start a telesales job last year, it fell through (after being kept on the hook for three plus months). Finally got a job at the start of the summer, working at a hospital for roughly £100-£150 a week if i do five days. Its not great, but i'd rather be working for my money than sitting on my arse at a job centre 'looking' for a job and sneaking half an hour fag breaks (or rather putting up with "Got a light mate" from them).

Guess what i'm trying to say is that the media normally screams and yells about how appalling it is.. for once, they probably aren't far from the truth.

I applied for that job myself but got turned down.

They gave it to some c**t who didn't have Tourette's Syndrome.

Ever heard of the 'minimum wage' law? Are you sure what you are saying?

These jobs are often self employed basis and you get a very small retainer and the rest is made up from what you sell and £400 will be on a very good week occasionally

Well, I know someone that works at a small pet shop in Eastern Green. When I applied there, they said that they had already received over 200 CV's for jobs there.

Have rang this number shown a few times today just to check it out and it either just rings and rings and rings or if you get through to the voice mail box is says it is full and not taking anymore calls, which tells you that probably people simply didn't know about the vacancies.

Where did they advertise it I wonder?

They definatley didn't advertise it well, If they did, more then likely I would have seen it. Maybe alot of the unemployed people want to stick with what they are currently trained in or have expierence of & it is hard to find a job unless you want to work for minium wage miles away, I got offered a job last week at minium wage but the place was nearly 30 miles away, by the time i have paid for petrol and stuff i might as well just not bother, when i refused it, i got some twat at the other end of the line talking crap to me about how i'm this and that. It's amazing how some people get jobs.

Also at my last company, over 120 people applied for 2 jobs.

BREAKING NEWS

Over 10,000 unemployed in Coventry and not one person has applied for a vacant job position as one of the biggest annoyances ever (telemarketers) on minimum wage!

After advertising the vacant position extremely well with a 2cm by 2cm article in the middle Coventry Telegraph, the company were surprised at the lack of applicants.

Quite a good idea. But everyone on here thinks they are bigger idiots than they were before.
