Maybe a loan for a month to league 2 or Yeovil. Then he hits the ground running in Jan if DMC goes

There's is absolutley no excuse for footballers to be unfit. Totally unexceptable in my opinion.

Unless they are not match fit as they are not playing matches.

However he apparently returned from summer unfit. Despite having been given the same fitness plan as everyone else.

Which is inexcusable I agree.

When was he sharp? Everytime i've seen him play he has been slow, no movement and never hits the ball with enough power...Best goal he has ever scored was against Birmingham in the cup, only moment he has every looked sharp..But then again that was the only time this season the whole team has performed.

Correct. McDonald has done nothing to earn the praise he constantly gets. He is at a stage in his career where he should have 200 plus games under his belt at League level. He is well short of that.

The modern game demands that all players contribute in areas such as closing players down, tracking back, looking comfortable with back to goal and outside the penalty area. McDonald does none of this. If he does not score it is a 3 out of 10 performance guaranteed.

His ball control is poor and worryingly his goals per shots ratio is not great either.

The modern game would never have a Mick Quinn in the team whatever his merits and McDonald is nowhere near that level. I hope he goes in January.

I agree with everything other than about Quinny. No place in the game for a goalscorer? How come there is a place in the game for big strikers that don't score like Platt? Quinny didn't do much in a game, but if you gave him the ball he would put it in the back of the net. Not much of an athlete, but certainly was a striker. We could do with someone like him now.

I agree with what you say about McDonald. However, you could probably fit him in if the other 9 outfield players are contributing for 90 mins, unfortunately players like fleck, baker, sheffers and Moussa go missing for large periods of the game so playing McDonald is just another passenger, as he only really contributes when the ball is in the 18 yard box.

And without wanting to bleat on about ALF, you could see when we played Reading that he contributed quite a bit with his back to goal and in the build up play.

Nice touch at the end giving the Arlesey players a real good round of applause, they played well and with a bit of composure / luck could had a few goals.

Solid 4-4-2 set up, good luck to them for the rest of their season.

How much did we spend? 300K?

The reason why people give him so much praise is probably because they still believe the claims that we could get 30+ goals in this league. Norwich probably couldn't believe their luck when we signed him.

Why the comparison to Le Fondre? He was about as likely to come here as Malaga going to that Premier League club that wanted to sign him.

Cody ,,,,,,,,,,,,, sitting next to the dugout and watched him take off his shirt before coming on, unfortunately for him he revealed that he still has a spare tyre when taking his top off before coming on

Professional player ?????????????

The reason for the comparison is he was signed from a league two club, the league where Cody outscored him the previous season in the exact same transfer window we signed Cody

One is now playing Premier League Football the other is warming the bench for a league one club sitting in the relegation zone...

What! You mean they think he should be in the Premier League! I actually know a season ticket holder at Norwich and he barely even knew who he was!

The general opinion from most Norwich fans was they thought he didn't get much of a chance at Norwich and they thought he could do ok if he was given the chance but if Lambert decided he wasn't good enough for Norwich that was good enough for them and they backed his decision
