Ooooooooo

5 defeats on the trot
23rd and below Cardiff in the last 10 games
4 scored and 12 conceded in those games
We can do this - come on!

pusb

Can’t see Bobby playing both so would play him at home

Same line up? Only change I’d consider is BTA for Simms

Same team that started yesterday for me

BTA cameo was great but he is strong and quick and more effective against tiring and stretched teams.

Simms can handle the little twat 09

Same again. Though think there will be debate around BTA for Simms.
Is JDS available for this one?

Would still look at how we set up away but that's for another thread

Their form is shocking and we always beat them, I'm more confident than I should be I think. I know they have to beat us some time, I just don't think it is now.
I'll still be shitting bricks come match day though.

I think you should stick with a team that did what was expected of them so well. JDS and BTA both have a claim though.

I think Lampard puts JDS in as he likes him but BTA is used as a sub again with Simms stretching the defence/our patience for 60/70 mins.

We couldn't ask for a better team to play right now. Their form is terrible, they've been on the beach for half a season and our record against them is incredible.

I do feel like a win is needed in this leg to be able to take the tie though.

2-0 I think here with a 1-1 draw at the SoL.

Sunderland is who all we preferred in the PO’s let’s be honest.

They’ve got some good players and it won’t be easy, but got to make the most of this first leg at home. Take a lead up to Sunlun if we can.

I can't look past their form.

You can't just press a switch and go from beach mode to contending and it's hard to get out of a run like they are on. I also think home first plays to our advantage.

Not getting cocky as Sunderland owe us one - but there's no reason for us to be afraid here and if you are Sunderland you can't be looking forward to this tie surely.

Their fans are very concerned about how they ended the season and honestly don’t want to face us. They are questioning Regis Le Brie’s tactics as well. They’ve been on the beach for half a season and apparently been playing at 70% capacity for quite a few weeks. They don’t know if they can turn it on now.

If we can win as convincingly as we did the last time we played them in March, I.think we should be fine for the away match. Our fans need to be loud and be the X factor.

Hopefully we won't need to next Tuesday..
I also still maintain that 2nd halfat the SoL was one of our best 45 minutes of the season.

Crush them at home, draw or narrow defeat away.

Yes, anything can - and will - happen in the playoffs - but their form really is shocking...

Are they going to play the same CB pairing as the last game?

Is there an argument for playing BTA on the left and Wright through the middle as he terrorised them so much last time

That’s what will be required. Though we did manage a point up there straight after sacking MR with Collins in goal and Lati in the middle.

Just to take your minds off it, I’m in the departure lounge at Gatwick, having brekkie before flying off for two weeks in sunny Antigua, that should be enough to keep your minds off the game. Hahaha

That he'd done really well to return from injury quickly but they would have to manage it.

As I said in the Boro thread, I couldn't be more confident about Friday; the atmosphere will be off the scale and we'll get the win. I'll be begging any sports bar I can find in Paphos to show the match!

I just want to see us play with confidence like we did yesterday not wilt under pressure eof playoffs

Alot of these guys played Vs man utd and a few of them played playoff final too so they know what big game pressure is

We can win it for sure. But it will be tough

If we did win for some reason I can shake the feeling it would be a final Vs Bristol city

In Paphos currently and missed the game Saturday. Took my firestick however and watched at the hotel with a beer.
apparently “friendship bar” show all of the matches which they can get. Found this out after. Have a good trip.

I do think we have a very chance even if we don't beat them in the first leg.

Be fabulous to take a lead for sure, but I wouldn't be too disheartened if we didn't.

Styles make matches and theirs really suits ours. People did wonder if Carrick would adapt his side against us yesterday, he didn’t. It’s not straightforward to suddenly get your team familiar with very different tactics just for one game.

Must win. With a capital MUST.

I’m discounting any historic h2h results or recent form between us and them. This is gloves off for both.

We're a different team at home and away. As mentioned we need to batter them at home and kill the 2nd leg.

Same starting 11 yesterday , exactly the same tempo and if we could be a bit more clinical, fancy us against anyone at home but need to score at least 3
