Coventry City v Sheffield United

Former Coventry City midfielder Michael Doyle returns to the Ricoh as captain of Sheffield UTD after spending 8 years at Coventry.

There will be a minutes silence before the game for former Coventry City player Ernie Machin who unfortunately passed away last month at the age of 68.

My Predictions

Score: 1-1 (MacDonald)

Formation:

Murphy
Clarke Malaga Wood Hussey
Jennings
Barton Kilbane
Baker
MacDonald C.Ball

Attendance: 9843

Please post any matchday predictions/banter here.

I'd like to see baker given a chance but I think mcsheffrey will play. 12k attendance. Hate predicting scores, always feel I'm tempting fate!

Good call La_La_La that's exactly the team i would pick, the same prediction i've made and roughly the same attendance guess. You are my hero.

Starting XI will probably have Brown in it.

2-0 Cov, McDonald, Wood

Attendance: 15k (hopefully!)

I don't think McSheff deserves to nor should start and I think Kilbane will start.

I'd take 1-0 to Cov!

Think we have a stronger team than they do, but they have experience of this league. Would rather be playing them in a few weeks.

I just feel killer is too slow to play left side, maybe in front of the back four if Jennings isn't fit

Also does anyone know if the parking restrictions around the ground are being enforced as there were a few posts suggesting they weren't going to be

Looking at their supposed team in the Telegraph I honestly cannot see where their goals are going to come from. I think a nervy but in the end reasonably comfortable 1-0 tonight. McDonald to score toward the end of the first half. The attendance, what ever it is, will be embarrassing.

Whatever the final score, Sheff U will score at least one goal courtesy of M. Doyle, so we have to score at least two to make it count.

I hope Baker gets a start. I think this is his season.

Tough one to call Either 0-0 or a late McDonald goal to make it 1-0. Attendance 9233.

I remember going to the Ricoh last time we played sheff utd and we absolutely hammered them all game. Think we had like 25 shots on goal but their keeper had an absolute stormer and it ended up 0-0. Im gonna hope justice prevails and we'll walk away with a 3-0 win. Cody with 2 and Barton with 1.

I think he'd do a better shift there than Baker. Reason: he can help out with defensive duties.

I totally agree he should play DM IF Jennings is not 100%

I personally wouldn't start Kilbane when Thomas gets back.

Pretty sure this is what the team will be. Maybe Brown may keep his place instead of Malaga.

Ah, the infamous Boothroyd "on the deck" game where a big win might have hammered home how we'd been found out when hoofing it? Unforgettable.

It's not about making a long pass, it's about making the right pass.

We will carry him though, for another 2 months. Then he'll score three goals in three matches and all will be forgotten.

Not sure of team or formation. Cov to win 2-1. Cody to score both. Last minute winner. Att: 11, 863.

Yea I remember it, was one of the better Boothroyd games actually. Hit the wood work about 3 or 4 times as well.

The same season we played them away they battered us that day and we came away with a 1-0 win
