I support all Coventry based teams.

Only a moron wouldn't want a successful sports team in their town.

I agree, to be fair I am trying to get a few "lads" together for a new firm for this team, there are some right crazy blokes!

PUCU. I like to keep an eye on their results as I do CCFC. I won't go to either however. I will go to CCFC when back in Cov, if they don't return then I will watch United. Lets just hope though it's the former.

I hope Coventry City return to Coventry with new owners, otherwise the team I have supported for 50 years is dead to me. Not based on results, not based upon sport but based upon having my club run by people who are not characters I wish to be associated with.
A replacement club?, I am open minded what form that comes in.

Agree. You'd be supporting a local team, not a hedge fund.

Is that what you want me to be hoping?

I'd be lying if I said I still care as much as I did.

I wish Coventry United all the best, but I just can't get the idea of supporting them over Coventry City FC. Hypothetical, I know, but would the Villa fans start supporting Birmingham if Villa went under? Or would Everton support Liverpool, or Man City fans support Man Utd? I doubt very much. I think that once you've established your team as a youngster, that's it. It's hard to feel the same for any other team. Having said that, I have always had an affinity for Liverpool, but that's as far as it goes. I love watching them play. However, when City played Liverpool, my heart and head were always with CCFC. I now watch my local team, Newport on the Isle of Wight, but that's as far as it goes - watching. It sorts my footie fix out!

The minute that the original Coventry return to the Ricoh this club which has capitalised on the present situation will no longer have a purpose for it was founded primarily out of protest. Clubs which were here long before the move I have no issue with but this one was clearly founded to exploit recent events.

WTF do you slag off others that go to Sixfields for, why do you whinge and moan about our owners, no need to answer, on more than one occasion you have wished the team to lose, seriously you are not a Sky Blues fan, regardless of owner, what fan in their right mind would want the team they support to lose?
I havnt been to see us play for years, i havnt and never will go to Sixfields unless NTFC get promoted and it is our away game, but if push came to shove, everyday of the week i would rather go to Sixfields to watch the team ive supported all my life than a wanna be cash in on the hype and bullshit team, they may have started out as a protest team but have soon moved on to a company wanting to make money of the CCFC demise, where or what are their protests? ///
Making up teams and squads to make money off suckers like you that would turn their back on their team because they dont like the owners or the downturn in fortunes, really sad, really sad that you would choose to support them over the team you thought you supported, when obviously you didnt really!
Im a pretty level headed bloke, can understand and see old and new owners problems, the shitstorms survived and the ones brewing, but there is one thing that never changes, NO MATTER WHAT, my support for the TEAM, for COVENTRY CITY, whoever the owners are or whatever their halfwit decisions have done to us as a club a team or fanbase, they are my team and will be till they no longer exist, when, if, that day ever comes then i may make a decision to support another local team, but it wont be a team made up out of protest at the current situation. And certainly not out of spite or a missplaced sense of loyalty!

You haven't seen us play for years but have been a supporter all of your life?

I always thought that a supporter goes to games and supports their club and a fan follows how they are doing. I may have learned something new today.

You should have done something by now..................

If Bradford City had gone out of the league 2 years ago, we may well have gone "pop", I could not have supported Bradford Park Avenue (only 2 promotions away from the league) so I understand the established red/united thing, it's unthinkable for a City fan.

But, suggestions were already being made, the Valley Parade rent (similar to ACL offer) would have been impossible, if we'd been moved to York we'd have been up and running in weeks, in Bradford, wearing claret and amber and representing the the vast majority of the same fan base.

I know about the logistical problems/excuses but take a look at who are now 3rd in the Conference Premier, they didn't even exist 5 years ago. With hard core of maybe 800/900 fans they might well be back in the league next year!

Good luck whatever you do.

I bet there's a lot more 'City's' than 'United's' in the PL and Football league.

Why focus on a name?

Isn't playing in Coventry the important thing here.. well that is what I think.

You are indeed correct 14 United's v 13 City's. Perhaps Coventry Palace would be more unique.

Said it before, if SISUs SkyBlues remain in Northampton next season, Sphinx should have a trial season at the Ricoh.

Nothing to stop you watching Sphinx where they play now is there?

Unless you're not really interested in supporting local teams at all, and your interest is just in a building.
