Hi Sky Blues supporters.
Lived in Coventry for a while and have happy memories of visiting the old Highfield Road long ago.
I am an AFC Bournemouth fan. After a cracking season last year we are once again building up a team ready to challenge for promotion.
One of our local papers and our local commercial radio station has indicated that you lot are looking to sign our full back/wing back Warren Cummings on possibly a free or for a nominal fee.
Warren is a versatile defender of excellent pedigree, but recent injury worries have meant he has had few starts.
He is well respected, experienced and currently our club captain. If we lost him it would be a blow because he is back to his best and fit again...it was great to see him back against Wycombe on Saturday. To be fair thougfh he has been looking for a move and allegedly Huddersfield, MK Dons and Doncaster have been sniffing about.
He is a superb player and this is possibly his last chance of playing at a higher level.
His possible move has only come to light today......

He'd only be playing at a higher level for 20 games!

He is a quality player who could easily play at a higher level.
Mind you he has loads of Div 1 experience!
We would hate to lose him.

Why not?
If you consider Cranie and Keogh to be natural CB now we do not have a senior full back in the squad.

A LB to push Hussey, makes sense, though that isn't the biggest problem area

if u are not a wum and its true then he has more chance of playing at a higher level with bournemouth because u reached the play offs last season and look capable again, at best he will be in league 1 with us, id say we would pay more but under the current regime that might not be the case either

I am sitting at work with a Bournemouth fan who has just laughed in my face about this possible signing and has described him as "dreadful, slow, donkey, a bit overweight". The rest I can't print. He should fit in well!

Is no one, reading between the lines, of this thread, AS far as I can see, if we are contemplating signing players it
must mean that Sisu are still in charge, and not planning to move on, a new regime would not want to invest, until it was at the Helm, I view these revelations, as somewhat worrying, with Sisu continuing to buy reject players from lesser clubs, instead of the quality we need to get out of this terminal decline it also indicates that they are prepared
To take us down, rather than accept an offer, or invest at the kind of level that is required

I think some of you might be being a bit unfair on Warren. He could definitely play at Championship level....and if it hadn't been for badly timed injuries he would be doing so now.
In the past he has had offers from Reading and Sunderland only to see injury get in the way. This might be his last chance, he could do a job for you. Obviously we want him to stay!

Sounds OK to me. Particularly as I presume Cranie will be off soon anyway.

Thanks for the heads up mate. It's just a bit of a running joke that we sign injury prone players - gambles that don't usually pay off for us! As La Lucha said, your man is probably a ready-made replacement for our man McPake - a player who would also be described as "could definitely play at Championship level....and if it hadn't been for badly timed injuries he would be doing so now."

If Fat Freddie has bee left to literally rot then i'm sure this guy wouldn't be signed by us, so it's a WUM, jog on troll.

We need proper cover at left back not just stand ins like Wood so it would make some sense. It would also allow AT to move McPake on and perhaps create cash for other things. Will the lad cost anything to bring in now ?

Just come back from picking up tickets at the Keepmoat. Had a chat with a Scottish left back in the reception, sounds like it must have been Cummings. Said he was doing a whistlestop tour of a couple of Championship clubs. Sounded all last minute. Won't be starting for Bournmouth tomorrow. Not risking injury.

Sounds glad he finally gets a crack at a higher level.

Between you and us I guess. We both need some help right now !

Ok, we get the left leg though. Apparently can't kick with his right.

Erm. Freddie is a striker and this guy is a defender.

On Twitter there are rumours that an approach has apparently been made for Cummings.
Sad news for us.
Cummings would be a loss at this crucial stage of the season.

Hi Ho Sky Blues, AFCB fan in peace.

Just trying to establish a motive for your board looking to sign Wazza.

He's a bit of a legend down here and has stuck with us over the years even though we've had financial problems and he's had offers from other clubs.
Most of us are gutted that he's even thinking of leaving.

What kind of wage is he looking at at Coventry?
We've lost most of last season's squad to the Championship apart from Wazza, and a no hoper called Pugh, because of the higher wages so we're not happy.

It must be a bloody good deal as we now have Russian owners plowing shedloads of cash in to the club.

Shame for us, but if anything comes of this you won't be dissappointed by him.

if there's a chance he's getting a decent wage where he is there's no way he'll be coming here to be paid peanuts.
