Would rather start a new fan owned team than take over someone else's. always look out for Sphinx but not sure it would be the best alternative for me. Better than Coventry United though.

But whilst CCFC still under the SISU regime and I am visiting Coventry then Coventry Sphinx is the team I will most likley follow and gladly contribute into there coffers. All the sky blue fans can help them financially. Coventry now needs a second football team in the league to represent the City and probably with the extra money coming from us city fans could help them achieve this.
as a follower of a lower league team myself, Sphinx would be a great alternative for you lot.
at first it would be just a good light hearted no pressure afternoon, having a few beers and enjoying yourself at a match with your mates. but you would soon become involved more as games go by.
don't look at it as abandoning your club. your club has been stolen away from you. look at it as adopting a club.
as one poster wrote above, even if just 500 fans decide to watch Sphinx it would be a massive boost for them, and not just financially.
