COVENTRY CITY appear to have missed out on transfer target Cody McDonald.
The Norwich City striker - who was a huge success on loan at Gillingham - is believed to be on the verge of signing for MK Dons.
The news is a huge blow to Sky Blues' boss Andy Thorn, who had turned his attentions to the 25-year-old after missing out on Adam Le Fondre last week.
McDonald has been on City's wanted list all summer and has also been tracked by the likes of Oldham, Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday.

Swindon Town also put in a "significant bid" for the goalscorer only to see the deal collapse.
And the Telegraph understands that McDonald is set to sign for MK Dons before the transfer window closes later this week.

Looks like we move on to plan ZZZ now

I think Thorn is the problem. Although I really like him and believe he is a good manager, I think players only want to play for well known or experienced managers.

MK Dons are a team on the up, and will most likely be promoted this season. I would pick them over us (thats if we were even intrested) if i wasn't a cov fan. Goals in their team will come alot easier and get more chances to score, as well as being a stable club.

I think it's because we've got no money and sisu won't sanction any transfers. It's got nothing to do with Thorne being inexperienced.

It was a non deal anyway. We probably scouted him once and that obviously means we are definitely going to sign him to our fans.

we will not sign anyone !!! AT has been told to big up the youth players because thats all we are going to have left !!! SISU will just sell and strip the assets we have left and that is how it will be till they go :jerkit::jerkit::jerkit::jerkit::jerkit:

Bollocks, that would explain why Juan Mata has joined Villas- Boas at Chelsea. Players join clubs which feel right to them personally after talking to a club, they"re not fussed who the manager is if that club feels right. Players would rather join fresh managers like Thorn than past it has beens like Coleman and Boothroyd.
