Hasn't got the same Kudos, views of the cathedral square or history and looks. Might have a look though !

Indeed, Golden Cross absolutely unique, been completely wasted the past few years.

If we can see it, why can't its owners?!?

I also remember sitting down next to Eric Idle in the Golden Cross once. I think he was appearing at the Belgrade at the time. Nice bloke too! Say n'more Squire!

Back in the '60s, my mates and I would start our weekly pub crawl in the Gentlemen Only bar of the GC. Happy days.

and would be much improved if they knocked down the appalling Cathedral Lanes. Though now all those chain restaurants have started moving in there that's not likely to happen.

They are ploughing council money into it It won't happen.

The City needs incoming investment and it needs to have a range of restaurants to Cities of a similar size. Cov has been a cultural wasteland in terms of its City Centre for way too long. It's picking up now, I've eaten in 3 of the restaurants here and it's brought Broadgate back to life again at night, as have the multitude of students who often come armed with credit cards and rich Asian parents these days !
