How cool is that. Is it Richard something or other that needs huge credit

It’s certainly something to be celebrated. Despite, or perhaps because of, all the shit we’ve endured we’ve managed to create an identity as a club that produces and hones young talent. Often local talent too! Good work cov!

Really proud of our academy and what it is acheiving.

Also shows what a mess the PL is in terms of buying in players from abroad vs giving their own academy products a chance when 3 players is enough to get us into the top 20!

Wow. Something we should be proud of! I wonder if this could help us attract youngsters if they are choosing between us and other local clubs?

Mad that list and then we pop up in it!

I was struggling to think of the 3rd player but it’s Christie. We’ll be dropping down the list next year then.

Robins out

Well actually the jump in that league table is simply because one of his charges, Maddison, (together with Wilson and Christie) played regularly in the Prem last season. On that basis we will fall in this stat next year.

Did Daniel Sturridge not count with us then?

Fulham got relegated so Christie isn't in the Prem.

true, but Maddison will likely play as much than last season & Wilson was injured a lot wasn't he, so will play more. Someone else mentioned Sturridge too. Injured a lot and set to play more this season maybe ? Not sure if there are any other city Academy signings that might come to the fore this season.... and any yet to sign from the current team too

Does this mean we can add a couple of million to the asking price for any players coming through. Great achievement for all concerned.

Because we will have two former academy players in the Prem not three.

Richard Stevens - Coventry City Football Club Academy Manager has been with the Academy for the last 12 years, arriving at the same time as Gregor Rioch. In the last 10 years there have been over 50 1st team debuts from home grown players.

Seriously impressive stats, we really do owe this man a great deal!!!

Nope, probably not. Was at Villa, then Coventry, then Man City, all as part of the respective academies.

Great news for our academy. To think it was very close to being shut down as a waste of money until we sold Wilson...

This is brilliant news. Guessing Che Adams will add a lot of minutes to the total next season too.

That is a quite astonishing achievement.

Lurking oil barons thinking of buying the club take note.

Surely he wouldn't count?

Won't they have to have come through the academy properly?

I think he did, just wasn't offered professional contract at 18 and went to the lower leagues.
