Not sure where to post non-Cov related gigs but just bought myself tickets to see The Flaming Lips in Cardiff.
Treated my self after winning £50 in the pub quiz last night.
Result.

Not sure if we have a pub quiz thread but I love a PQ.
Run a couple past us, terry whilst I wait for my car to be serviced.

You could have spent that on a valentine's present, good to see that you didn’t waste it

Well, I reckon I lucked out. For the £50 raffle prize I had to get up and answer 3 questions…I was the 3rd to get up there. The two before me I would not have been able to answer their Qs. My Qs were I thought were kinda easy…

1) which tv chef had a programme called Ministry of Food?
2) what section of an orchestra would you find the serpent?
3) (can’t quite remember the question) something like, what franchise of films starred/star Jackie chan and Chris tucker.

Some of the others…
Who was president of the USA at the time of the moon landings?

What year did Muhammad Ali beat Sonny Liston and Mary Poppins get released?

How many US states start with the letter M?

What are the cities of the uk that start with the letter B?

I reckon you’ll kick yourself on the 1st of the 3 Qs….
1) Jamie Oliver
2) woodwind (I guessed)
3) Rush Hour - I went to the cinema to see it (don’t bother).

Spot on for the other 2! I got 1964 wrong.

Kicked myself for the B city Qs…as my mum was born in the one I missed. I think they said there was 8.

Recommend folks get to a gig at the current LTB venue (Priory Visitors Centre). Nice spot for a show.

I didn't even know Mary Poppins served time, so I'd have been useless.

oh, and it's closer to Cov than B'ham so I'm counting it. I saw deftones at the NEC on Thu night and it was unbelievably good. Insane that they're this big after this long. Most people at the gig were u21 which is mad. Not just nostalgia heads. the world needs more deftones.

She was appalled at how little they got fed and the poor quality of it, hence her starting her 'Feed the Birds' campaign, arguing that just a spoonful of sugar would help make it easier for them to get through their 'medicine'

Sharon Osborne has run out of money already so Ozzfest is coming back next year. 2 nights at Villa Park.

Not sure there's enough bands around to support 2 UK metal festivals a year as Sonisphere found out but be interesting to see what the line up is. I'm at the age where a festival where I can go home and sleep in my own bed is appealing!

She's already mentioned Judas Priest but not sure they're a big enough act these days to be headlining stadiums even if it is a hometown show.
