This can't be right, anyone would think we are in direct competition with them?

I'm sure the hypocritical apologists will be along soon and explain why a franchise rugby club from London dominates the back paper of a local Coventry paper and why the team they support has been relegated to a tiny corner of the back page.

Do you think they deliberately placed it where they did. If so what does that say about their motives?

Well when I used to help place ads in the CET back page were more expensive - I assume this is back page?

I'm more surprised we made the back page at all.

Is not just the advert, their photo is much bigger than ours and ours looks like an afterthought.

They always have an ad on the back page has our zero hours non exsistant marketing department ever thought about doing the same? After all how does joe public know there's a game on for us?

Maybe the telegraph will do an article on how they dealt with the biggest sporting occasion at the ricoh ever ever?

Given they only got 14,000 home fans for their flagship game i would say that's a very wasps defensive argument.

Are you seriously saying a football team with 130 year heritage needs an advert in a newspaper to achieve that?

I think the only time we ever did this form of advertising was when at Sixfields. I believe you were very critical of the club for such advertising.

Why can't you bring yourself to do the same for this?

I would actually say that our marketing and PR through social media is vastly improved in the last 12 months.

Maybe it's cos we don't get mates rates on the back pagers

Are they paying for the flags on the roundabout or can anybody play?

Imagine if we had that in Northampton press?

Nice to see the apologists are out attempting to deflect and play it all down. We probably have the most passive fans in the country.

Why should I? This has no effect on me don't support Wasps did my protesting against them didn't change anything all the moaning on here isn't going to make any difference. As I've said before I go to the games as soon as the game is over win lose or draw it's over doesn't rule my weekend or week like it used to. I can't remember what I said about the adverts when CCFC were at sixfields obviously you will trawl through my posts and find something

Let them advertise nobody reads the rag anyway so it's just throwing money at their mates.

Yes - Saw it in the week building up to the Walsall and Burton games. I suppose ultimately, like a lot of things at the club at the moment, it will come down to the budget available to them.

Why would that be? Unless they get a discount for the number of ads they place. So what would any other reason be?

Anyone would be hard pressed to find fans of other clubs being so apathetic.

Very true Tommy...lots of stories about us on the main page. The only thing I feel is morally wrong with the CT website that is WASPs have their own sub-section link on the menu. What a great pity Cov Rugby Club don't have that! Do the Bears have that when the cricket season comes along?

In regards to the newspaper, its a business. If WASPs want to pay top dollar to ADVERTISE on the back page, let them waste their cash - and if the Telegraph prosper, it'll help keep people in a job. There's a few suggestions of helping their mates out - does that mean WASPs are getting some kind of "mates rates" deal, exclusive to them and not available to any other company who would want to put in a half back page ad?

I have no problem if the City don't follow suit, I'd rather they spent their money on the club than trying to desperately pull in a few punters, who would no doubt come if they had the urge and are more persuaded to watch because of their love of football (or we're actually doing well).

Yeah that winds me up too. I fully expect them to pay for adverts (and even if I may not like it, fully expect a cash strapped paper to take the cash - they're not the only place Wasps are advertising!) but the menu link winds me up.
