Surely we can't mess it up. Also confirms Moussa is likely to be off. Not sure he is top championship player but best of luck to him he should get picked up by a championship side.

And what about Moussa? Are SISU that thick by not giving him a new contract???

Sorry but after what SP said and the players who are leaving us soon, we're going down.

It's clear to see.

The club have actively tried to secure Moussa and Christie but both look set to run down their deals and leave as free agents.

To me this implies he's asked for a contract renewal, Elvis wants to keep him but so far nothing has been put in front of him which is worrying. Why would you not offer a renewal to someone like Murphy?

Oh yes that old chestnut line " The club have actively tried to secure Moussa e.t.c"

Pull the other one!

Players who now don't give a fuck about the fight for our survival....

Going down, simples.

Lets enjoy.

Because they will promote near enough the whole youth team next season to fill the gaps.

How many players have left with the club saying we did everything we could to keep them and the player saying otherwise? Not saying they haven't made an offer to Moussa but for all we know the offer is a one year contract with a 50% pay cut.

Agreed. Odd then that he wants to play at our "joke" of a club at "shitfields". Hopefully, someone will come along and explain his thinking to me in a moment before my head explodes.

I've no doubt it will be a shit offer for less than he's on now.

I was just correcting the beduff chap for saying 'nothing' has been done.

...and for all we know it may be 3 years at £80k per week !!

Moussa is young, talented & believes (probably correctly) that he can cut it at a higher level....

Player of the season asks for a new contract.
Lets see if we really do want to climb the football pyramid, in an attempt to make the stadium idea viable

Which is clear to see the club already settled on the fact they would leave, so they can promote more youth, hence the shit contracts they were no doubt offered. The club doesn't care less. SP does, but his gaffers don't.

It would have been a poor offer but one in line with the new wage structure.

It could indeed but given SISU's track record for misleading us (some would say outright lying) I take it with a pinch of salt when we're told they're doing everything they can to keep players. I'm pretty sure if they were offering improved terms that would make its way into the press, something along the lines of 'we've offered him a pay rise as part of his new contract but so far it hasn't been accepted'.

In the summer it was rumoured that murphy, baker and Clarke were all on £7k per week (c£1.5k league one average), that's approx £380k per annum by the time you include employers NI contributions. That's a lot of money when we've been told the wage budget is £2m.

They will undoubtedly offer him reduced terms, perhaps this is why they are waiting until nearer the end of the season.

Get Murphy signed up. Been excellent for us! Model pro!! I think the Club have tried to sign up Mouss and Christie but they are blantantly wanting away otherwise they would have signed by now.

I'd go with that too. Having said that I have serious doubts that the club either would or possibly could offer more to Christie or Moussa, given the constraints SISU have chosen to tie themselves into at Northampton.

I can't see that Murphy would be asking for much more though, given his age. To have not sorted this by now is a farce, imho. One of the best keepers in this division, performing well, and wants to stay.

Pressley talks a lot about hunger from the players, and the desire to do better - pity that there's not much evidence of it from the board.

'Franck, wanna stay?'

'Nah I'm alright thanks'

'Cyrus, how about you?'

'Nah I'm with Franck on this'

'Sorry Steven, we did try'

Going on recent evidence there is a lot of hunger from the board to weaken this club in every possible regard.

Have we ever had a keeper with as good a penalty save ratio as Murphy?

He's worked wonders behind that shambles of a defence he's had this season.

Gutted about Moussa though.

It is but if you are saying the only way this stadium an be viable is via promotion. What was those three players contribution like when we were showing promotion form?

Clearly Joe hasn't had a sniff of a offer from anywhere else, so of course he is going to say "I want to stay" .
I'm convinced it's nothing to do with playing infront of the super fans.

Murphy's penalty saves this season has to be some kind of club record surely? Probably the amount we've conceded too.

be great to sign him up. great shot stopper, sure he lets some dumb goals in when wanders off line but when your in league one he is as good as they come.

To be honest .. it was on the cards we are going to struggle to hold onto our player, especially after up rooting the club from its home and moving to Sixfields in front of a very depleted crowd.

Believe it or not many of our players who have requested to leave the club have ambitions of progressing there career and I have admiration for that but sadly they cannot see them doing that at CCFC and nor can I.

I really hope Murphy does sign and even if he does, I doubt he will be with us for too long.

Its the sign of the times of how we have plummeted as a pathetic low league homeless football club.
