Let's stop underestimating our beautiful team. All we keep hearing is happy with a draw or difficult game. Slated as not good enough and as bottle jobs by so many. Middlesbrough expected to wipe us off this earth when they took the lead for a single game and came to see who is really the best.

Since then 8 wins from 9. The only side to beat us in this run were lucky. They've just beat another Prem club to get to the semi finals of the FA cup by beating Arsenal. That's now 12 wins and 3 draws from their last 15 games.

I've had enough of debating why Optima don't think we will suddenly go from winning just about every game to losing every game and those trying to chase us will suddenly win every game including when they play each other.

From what I've seen we're CHAMPIONS of the Championship. I had doubts about Lampard but was totally wrong. We're so lucky to have him. Lampard isn't in it for the money. Both him and his wife work because they enjoy it. They could sit back spending millions a year enjoying themselves if they wanted to. Take another job at risk of being seen as shite again?

Coventry City and Lampard met at a great time. Both shown lots of promise but the doubts were there. Bookmark me now. We will stay up next season. It won't be easy, but we have a very good nucleus of a Prem side already. Our side would cost a lot to buy. That first goal by Rudoni would have gone viral if scored in the Prem. I would take a cheeky bet that Lampard would be happy to work for free at this present moment. He is enjoying it more than we are I can see this becoming Lampard taking us as far as we can go.

Exciting times ahead

I think it’s hard sometimes to remember it’s a different club now.
Apart from a brief revival in 1987, the club was seriously infected by a horrific loser mentality from 1970 - 2018. Mark Robins cured us of that, but as fans we haven’t caught up yet

This is so big.

You can always see the direction of a season is going through stats. But with Coventry City we've always defied the stats

This season could have been anything. Lampard at 2 PPG gave us a good chance, but saying out loud that with a good GK we would be 2nd sounded stupid

Record amount of wins for a season already with 6 games to go. We're living the dream. Still kind of involved but more as a spectator.

Great post, but I’m still questioning if we’ll ever win at Deepdale

It’s an interesting debate. If you leave the financials to one side is it more enjoyable purely as a watching spectacle to win a whole stack of games and be one of the best in the champ or try and pick our way through a prem season and stay up. I think you have to go prem otherwise what’s the point but my main worry for next season is some of the fan base turns on the team if we lose a few.

I don’t see that happening to be honest. 18 months ago we were hovering just above the Championship relegation zone, and the fans didn’t turn on them
