At least this is the last time we'll see Diangana before he pisses off on a free. Scores every fucking time.

Collins
Mve Lati Binks Kitching Bidwell
Allen Grimes Rudoni
Simms Wright

Made the changes to try and freshen things up I expect us to look very tired with West Brom having an extra 2 days rest and our poor use of subs. Sakamoto, Sheaf and Dasilva all back in for Plymouth.

Think we lose this one with big pressure on the last 3.

I’m hoping to see a follow-up performance from Lati. He was decent against Hull. I so badly want him to be good.

It’s a good turn around but we’ve had it in our hands to probably be in Sunderland’s position by now.

He was, he wasn't really given much to do defensively though. Don't trust him at all, but fingers crossed he has a good one.

Dasilva has his weaknesses and i'm still not a huge fan but you have to accept he's improved a fair bit recently. It's what we have to work with so not worth moaning about... unless you think Bidwell should be in? Personally i think Bidwell has looked like an absolute dog of a player recently. A shame but appears to be on the way down.

He looks like he has lost a yard of pace. Definitely looks slower these days

Mowbrays post match comments on Watford sounds like they are planning to sit back and try and pick us off on the counter

Dasilva is a good against technically good tricky wingers, Edwards at Burnley for example he done well. He struggles against quick, strong direct wingers. I think he’s been pretty good the last 4 or 5 and would definitely have him over Bidwell at the moment.

Yes there might have been dropped points like at Hull, but on the flip side we've had 6 90+minute winners, some of those games we didn't deserve to win. Swings and roundabouts.

Yep. We’ve struggled over the line in plenty of games. Portsmouth, Oxford home and away, Stoke. Threw points away at Norwich and Hull. Our GD tells a big story too.

It’s fine if we don’t make it, because I think 25/26 will be a very good season.

Considering we chucked half the season away, it’s a minor miracle that we are where we are. Agree though on next season.

Why? What suggest we'll do any better next season?
And do you think we can bridge the gap to the play off teams? Because if not there's not a lot of scope for improvement on where we are now.

Our PPG under Lampard compared to the games up until he arrived. If we’d started the season with him and his coaches, we’d likely be around Sunderland’s points tally by now.

The hope that we can hit the ground running for once, no reason we shouldn't.
Settled squad on good contracts, concentrate on quality additions rather than spreading thin.
Lampard attracting a better standard of player? (Remains to be seen, but i would think so.)

As for catching parachute teams..
Ipswich? No chance, they'll win the league.
Southampton? Hard to tell, the smart money is on them going back up but eventually the string snaps with the constant yo-yoing (Norwich, WBA), team looks weaker than the last Saints team that came down.
Leicester? Well one thing we can all agree in it that hopefully these cheating cunts finally get what's coming to them.

Yeah, so not a massive window for improvement and in a league with so many variables anything can happen.
If we're in the position we're in now this time next season I'll be happy, anything more than that and I'll be ecstatic.

I would expect MVE to go for big money, hopefully Gyo finally moves from Lisbon and we use the funds to sort our defence out.

Tommy said it would be a very good season, not necessarily that we’ll be in for the autos. Very good for me would be around what Sunderland have done.

Would we have averaged the same PPG across the whole season under Lampard? Would be nice to think so but how many years have we had now where we've spent the off season talking about how we've got a relatively settled side and should hit the ground running yet it never seems to happen.

Assuming we don't go up this year that will be the big test for Lampard. Not sure we've got a huge number of players who will be eyeing moves to bigger clubs and hopefully there's scope to strengthen the squad so hopefully, finally, we'll have a decent start to the season and not throw away the first few months.

wider gap = fewer policemen = less cost. Narrow gap = more policemen but they also have a much higher gate fee to pay for them. I dunno, I'm guessing.

I agree. Lot of similar sized clubs with similar objectives as us which is what makes it such a great league, but also what makes it so difficult.

We've won a lot of games without playing that well, and with conceding more goals than a team with play off aspirations should. There is definitely scope for improvement. I said the other night that some of our football v Hull was probably the best we've played since Lampard arrived so let's have more of it.

All about opinions he has pace isn't afraid to run at people , a better touch then Simms and abit of arrogance about him. We have a very good player there and he could be an asset against tired defenders

He doesn't have a very good track record on spotting a good player.

Maddison and Wilson come to mind.

We'd need a massive drop off of form from the second half of this season, if we were going to do worse. Our second half of the season form has us third, and well clear in the play-offs. We could have a drop off in form and still improve overall next season.

Give Lampard a full preseason to bring in some players he wants to strengthen us and to fully bed in his ideas and we could be flying next year.

As always the 3 parachute payment teams will be favourites but we will a good bet for a solid play off place ala Sunderland this year

I'm hoping we do better, but I've seen too much if this league to expect it, it has a habit of biting you on the arse as I'm sure Luton will testify to.

If we can keep being around the play offs at this stage of the season then I'm sure one year it will come good got us.

Our poor early season form can usually be explained away one way or another. If we start badly again next season over the first 4 months or so, I'd be disappointed and a little baffled.
