I fell very confident of not losing this game. They're very poor away from home this season. Their last away win was in November 1-2 at Hull. They also won once away in September.

Add to this our recent home form is solid and we're in for a full house. A draw wouldn't be a bad result but a win would be excellent.

Yeah

I suppose the main worry for me is that you never know if there is going to be a bit of ill-luck, such as silly sending off, or dodgy penalty etc.

Can be such fine margins sometimes.

Would like to think we may get a bit of luck on our side on Friday.

You also don't know about any players carrying knocks. I am concerned about Ben Sheaf and we are now so thin in the centre of the park aren't we. We're down to Sheaf, Rudoni, Grimes and Allen.

Really need all 4 of them to stay healthy for these last few games.

I am quietly confident about Friday. A draw would probably be okay, as long as we then go and beat Plymouth on Monday.

I’ve been critical of him before but JDS has really benefited from the new coaching team and has been very good recently. I wouldn’t say they were targeting him at all.

From recent memory, we rarely do anything against Albion, then again that was under Robbins and we've already dispelled some of those bogey curses under Frank.

I worry our lack of killer instinct will cost us here, these guys don't typically concede alot and the blueprint to beating us is letting us have the ball and limiting us to hit and hope crosses into the box whilst we're left open on the counter. Gotta hope for a win but I don't feel confident right now, we can't afford to lose that's for sure.

We like hitting crosses into the box and they are usually much better quality than hit and hope.

We didn’t do well against them even before Robins.

They have always had a bigger team and in those cases we have generally been bullied and not able to penetrate - yet again we have lost a key player like Bobby at a critical time - recently we have lost one player per game - the ref was better ( barring the pen) than the two previous games

Just combing through their fixtures as someone mentioned their last away win somewhere in the thread, its true, November 10th at Hull. Some decent draws along the way but that still makes for very poor reading from their point of view.

We got 1 point from our last 4 last season. 8 in the playoff season and 2 the season prior to that

Big 6 pointer this, every game feels a must win at this stage and we notoriously aren't able to get results against West Brom. We're playing good football just need to be killer in that final third.

Team wise, I'd play the same starting 11 vs Hull with one change in Allen coming in for Sheaf. I've been defending Sheaf however the amount of times he got caught on the ball/giving it away/dribbled past.... a 38 yr old Ambarrat eased passed him to set up their first goal. Simms looked bright vs Hull and with West Brom's physicality, feels the right move. Sub wise, I hope we're more swift in making changes when needed...Whilst I liked Simms' shift, you could see from about the 54 min mark he wasn't going to score that day, the game fell a bit flat and we needed to make those changes.

Maybe I'm viewing with a negative mindset but we've got a fair amount of players injured now (key ones too) that really make an impact to how we play. I think for the remaining games we will need a few pieces of luck to get us over the line, potentially we may run out of steam. Monumentous achievement to even be in contention given the starting point.

The didn’t target Dasilva FFS. This must be the dumbest SBT meme.

I appreciate you're a fan of his, but Dasilva's qualities lie more in being in possession rather than out of possession, and if you don't think our opponents target him as a defensive weak link you are living in la la land. In the first half particularly, Hull constantly switched the play towards Gelhardt as their favoured attacking option. To be fair Dasilva dealt with that pretty well and it was sod's law that an inferior sub ended up scoring from that same ploy. Against Fellows on Friday, Dasilva will be playing against a much better player and will need to be switched on defensively to deal with that threat.

Sky showed a statistic that something like 65% of Hull's attacks came down our left third. They were targeting that side - could be due to JDS's perceived weaknesses or because Gelhardt is the better winger

If i was trying to get in behind us I would target JDS rather than MvE who can recover so much quicker

Dasilva has his weaknesses and i'm still not a huge fan but you have to accept he's improved a fair bit recently. It's what we have to work with so not worth moaning about... unless you think Bidwell should be in? Personally i think Bidwell has looked like an absolute dog of a player recently. A shame but appears to be on the way down.

We got trounced a few times by that Mowbray team. Remember losing 5-0 home and away, 4-1 one time too.

Thing is Dasilva is now winning headers despite his height and is looking better every game. It’s not the weakness it used to be.

Yep. The 5-0 was in the Cup and one of Che Bunce’s few appearances

And he is often on his own as Clarke and Wright don’t cover back, and Kitchen is reluctant to leave the centre and come out to cover.

Frankly it shouldn’t be Wright or EMC’s job to do that, it’s what the midfield should be helping with.

Its not about Dasilvas qualities its the idea he’s targeted. Someone claimed every attack came down his side the other week when the stats showed it wasn’t even a majority.

Go out for the win but take the draw if we have to.

Even though our home form is decent and their away is pretty bad, it being WBA doesn't make me confident though - always seem to lose to them and put in poor performances or get someone sent off.

Took a horrid deflection and a Lati mistake to give them the goals.

Maybe we should stop being the team who apparently deserved more and start being the team with the balls to actually put teams to the sword.

In the first half they were constantly attacking down our right, so were they targeting MVE at that point?

teams attack the left as much because our left attackers are bad at helping out defensively while saka puts much more of a defensive shift it

The ball only has to go within about a 3 mile radius of Dasilva and people claim he's being targeted.

Teams attack down the flanks lads, this is not a new phenomenon.

Just don't lose this game and i think we wil win 2 out of the last 3. If that's not good enough so be it still been a fantastic season, with a lot of questions answered on and off the field. .

We talk about holding on to players, FL and his coaches might be the ones to watch as im sure we are going to get approached for them come summer. If he stays we have a chance of holding on to our most valuable assets and adding quality signings.
